I woke up early this morning because practice tired me out, as soon as I got home I fell asleep. Hiram, Thomas and I put up the Christmas tree a couple days ago. Our tree was huge, white lights were wrapped around it and a multicoloured star right on top. I was reading Fangirl, drinking hot chocolate when I heard the door open and footsteps. I walked up to front door to see who was here. I saw suitcases, automatically knowing who it is I rolled my eyes. I crossed my arms and leaned against the door waiting for them to come out.
Dallas stepped out of the kitchen, his eyes met mine and he quickly looked away. I scoffed and walked away.
"Lonnie?" I heard his footsteps behind me.
"What?" I sat on the couch, grabbing my hot chocolate and sipping it.
"I've been told that you're going to be preforming The Nutcracker, is that right?" He asked looking down at his shoes. Would he actually show? Should I tell him? Nah.
"Where's umbridge?" I asked avoiding the question and sipping my hot chocolate.
"Upstairs. So, are you?" He asked finally looking at me.
"I don't know" I shrugged. I honestly, don't know after that stunt Jared pulled we haven't been talking too much and it messes with my dancing. I do not trust him. He might do it again and this time I could seriously get hurt or he might because I'll hurt him.
"What do you mean?" He asked seriously.
"Long story" I told him, grabbing my book.
"I have time" he said angrily.
I laughed. "I don't. If you were here you would of known"
"Damnit, Lonnie! I can't be there all the time" Dallas yelled.
"Obviously" I rolled my eyes. "I think I got that when you left" I looked at him and noticed his jaw was clenched.
"We are going to spend time as a family this Christmas. No if, what's, and buts" he said through gritted teeth.
I laughed. "A family? Us? Oh this a great" I got up and walked away from him.
I walked up to my room to get ready. I showered, got dressed in my black short shorts, gray vneck. I walked downstairs to see Hiram and Thomas standing at the counter eating cereal. I looked around until I my eyes landed on Dallas and Umbridge at the table eating. Now I know why they're not sitting at the table. I opened up the fridge, grabbed out the orange juice. The door bell rang, Hiram walked over to get it. I was pouring my orange juice when Hiram walked in with a bouquet of white roses.
"Oh my god.. These are beautiful" Umbridge gushed and ran over to Hiram literally ripping them out his hands.
"Actually thos-" Hiram was cut off by Umbridge's hand to his mouth. "Shh, boy!" She smelled the flowers and examined them.
"Oh dally, aren't they beautiful?" I almost gaged at his stupid nickname.
"Sure are, babe" he looked over to her with a smile.
"I wonder who sent them to me" she gushed again.
"If you let me finish you would know they aren't for you" Hiram said with annoyance in his voice and pulled them out if her hands.
"They're for Lonnie" he waved the white card in her face. He handed the card to me along with the flowers.
"I know you said no to roses but I thought this would be appropriate. I'll pick you up at 6:30 for our date tonight. Wear something warm. -Mason" I read out loud.
