After pulling myself together, I decided that I’m not hurting.. I'm just numb. Numb because I can't take the feeling of having my heart torn into half, numb because I can't sit around and cry anymore. Numb because I lost my mother.. forever.

Without thinking about what I’m doing, I'm walking out to my car with my dance bag.

I need to dance.. I need to clear my mind.

“Going somewhere, baby doll?” I voice calls from behind me.

I turn around to come face to face with Mason. “I'm seriously not in the mood for you smart ass remarks.. Get the fuck away from my car before I run over your foot” I say flatly while get in the drivers seat and start up the car.

“I get it. I saw those guys in the army looking suits leave, I was just checking up on you guys” he says.

“We're fucking fantastic” I say then drive away to the studio.

After endless hours of dancing, pouring my heart and soul into every dance, I was finally leaving the studio when I heard a familiar voice call me.

I saw Jared get out of his car and walk over to me. “Hey” he says to me.

“Hey” I feel a buzz in my pocket, I pull out my phone, Sugartits (Hiram) it reads, I send it to voice mail.

“You want to get a drink or something?” he asks me and puts his hands into his pockets.

“uh.. yeah, why the hell not” I say with a smile. I could use him for a distraction for awhile.

We pull into a Gustav's and make our away inside. The waiter shows us to our seats and asks us what we'd like to drink.

“Just two beers” Jared answers.

“So um.. I wanted to take you here because I heard and I figured you can use a beer or two and I'd really like to get to know you” he told me with a smile.

“Yeah.. I can use a beer or two.. or like 3” I said with a laugh.

“I know you know that when we dance.. there is just this..” he sighs “spark between us. Like we're perfect for each other” he said and the waiter brings us our beers.

I take a drink and say “Yeah... it is like we're perfect to dance together” saying 'dance' louder and longer.

“Your height, weight and, well, basically everything just fits perfectly with me” He says after taking a drink.

“You know Lonnie.. we're alike in many ways. You may not think so but we are. I can feel it” he paused and takes another drink.

“We both want nothing more than to be known world wide for our amazing talent. We'll dance a million dances before trading in everything for kids and family get-together. We can make it to the top if we stick with each other”

We? Boy, was he wrong.

I didn't bother to say anything to him because I felt like I shouldn't have to explain my hopes and dreams to anyone.

Three beers later, Jared was driving me home. We pulled up into my parking lot and he walked me to my door.

“Thanks for tonight.. I had a really nice time with you” I said.

“I did too” Jared said.

“Well um.. I better go inside now. I've been ignoring their calls all night” I reached for the door handle. Jared pulled me back and wrapped his arms around me. I could feel his hot breath on my neck, we pulled apart and he slammed his lips into mine, like literally.
