Vampire au? I'm a SUCKER for those haha I'm funny laugh at me.
Also George is 21 in this so he's not out of college yet.-Warnings: Blood, Injury- (It's a vampire au what did u expect)
George's family have been composed of vampire hunters for years and years. Spanning back to the 1600s. His family name, Otound, was heavily known for this profession, hiding it behind their ruse of a weapons shop in London.
Even though he'd been trained to hunt and kill vampires since he was around 8 years old, George didn't really want this lifestyle his family forced upon him. He knew how to do all the fun things like tracking and finding a vampire, he even knew how to kill one. In various ways.
"George, honey." His mother spoke from across the dinner table. "We're glad you came to visit for your fall break, but we're dying to know when'll you'll kill your first vampire."
"I told you mum," George rolled is eyes, "I'll get around to it. There's a boy in my coding classes who's showing the signs of being a vampire anyways. It'll be him if he is."
"We just want to be sure you're going to hold up the family name like you're meant to. You're the only one who can carry on our legacy, as our son."
"You say that like you don't have two daughters as well." George took another bite of the food, slouching into himself. He was already the scrawniest member of their family, even if he was taller than both of his sisters.
"We do, but you know what we mean." His mom patted him on the back.
He was never more excited to leave home other than when he got accepted to a college in Florida, he'd been going there for two years now. Which was a huge breath of fresh air from home. Despite living in a warm area, George never got used to the heat or the sun. Preferring to stay inside his apartment rather than spend too much time outside. His family was pale, fair smooth skin, which was good for if they needed a quick way to attract vampires. Vampires weren't necessarily everywhere but there still were quite a few of them.
Vampires weren't your typical vampires, they didn't glisten in the sun, they weren't afraid of garlic, at least, anymore. George recalled his father telling him a story when he was younger, about when his great great great grandfather had found a whole family of vampires who had been all of those things. They'd evolved over the last few hundred years, just as humans do. In small ways.
It seemed that vampires still needed to be invited in private or personal places, and that they were weak to wooden daggers. They were constantly cold to touch, well not cold, but cooler than normal. They somehow couldn't show up in photos, but could in mirrors. They could also control humans if they stared into their eyes and commanded them to do something. George also knew that most vampires had their own special abilities other than mind control, strength, hearing, speed, and sight.
George knee all these facts like the back of his hand, those said facts being engrained into his brain ever since he was a child. He always subconsciously checked for these qualities in people entering his home, or if he hand to shake hands with someone, or if he was in a photo but someone else wasn't. George carried a small wooden dagger in his pocket, everywhere. It was tiny, but it could kill if he needed it to.
The boy he mentioned from earlier, he was newer into the classes, probably a sophomore who was smart enough to be in junior level classes. He looked a little older than George though, his height and build being taller and larger than George's own. He had pretty tan skin, blonde hair, and dull green eyes.
The first time George had seen him was on the way to a class. The boy had been throwing a football back and forth with a friend, another boy, slightly shorter with black hair and dark eyes.
