Levi
"You are coming with us."
"Am not."
"Levi, I am not discussing this with you. They are Roses parents and they were our friends." Mom stood in my doorway with her hands planted on her hips. As if her attitude would impress me. I was the master of attitudes.
"That's why you are attending", I deadpanned.
"Levi!"
"I have other plans for today."
"Like what?" She asked, as if she cared.
"I'm taking Christy out on a date."
"You can't be serious, Levi. You knew today was the day.""Yeah, but I didn't know it was mandatory for me to go."
"You are being incredibly rude. I don't even know where we went wrong with you", she huffed.
"Oh, don't worry. It wasn't you, you weren't around enough to take an influence on me", I retorted.
"Levi", my dad yelled from downstairs. I rolled my eyes. Some days I swore he had the ears of a dog or something. "If I ever hear you talking to your mom like that again, I will -"
"What? Disown me? Go ahead", I yelled back. Mom shrugged and left to go back downstairs.
"Watch it, son. Now get ready, if you don't want me to sell your car and ground you for the whole school year."
"Fine. I go it. I'll meet you there."
"Levi!" There was a warning in his voice.
"I will be on time", I snarled in response.
"You better be, son, unless you want life as you know it to be over."
"I said I got it, Dad", I yelled back, pissed that nobody seemed to take my word for real.
In a way they were right though. They had told me to made an appearance, but they hadn't told me to come alone. I grinned as my mind came up with ways to piss them off while meeting their demand for me to show up.
I slammed the door shut and went into my closet to fetch my best suit. Christy always said I looked hot wearing it.
I sent her a quick text, telling her we had to adjust our plans for today and she needed to wear something nice that matched my suit. She immediately wrote back asking if we were to attend some kind of a black tie event. I didn't answer her question. Instead I told her to shake a leg and get dressed because I would pick her up in half an hour.
When I pulled up her driveway exactly 25 minutes later she was waiting on the front porch. My jaw almost dropped open.
She wore an red A-line satin dress. Dark red, but still colorful enough for my parents to consider it inappropriate. Perfect.
I let my eyes wander to the low cut between her boobs and the dressskirt that ended somewhere mid-thigh. Long enough to cover her ass, but way to short to be classy. Wearing some breathtakingly high black stilettos with it her legs seemed to be endless. I loved it.
Her blonde hair was falling over her shoulders in loose curls. She was smoking hot. And I couldn't wait for this stupid funeral to be over so I could take her somewhere we could be alone and cherish each other.
"Hi", she waved happily with a big smile on her full lips. Lips I'd like to...I mentally slapped myself. Stay focused, Levi. Just a little longer.
I rolled down my window. "Hop in. We're in a hurry."
