Levi

"Good morning, Ginger", I winked when we entered the office some time later this morning. "I have a special request today."

"Your requests are always special, aren't they?", she asked teasingly.

"You caught me."

She chuckled. "What can I do for you, Levi?"

"Would you so be so kind as to change my schedule so it matches Poppy's schedule?"

The secretary raised her brow in a silent question.

I sighed. "Misses Poppy Lawson's schedule, that is."

The secretary smiled when it dawned on her. "Oh. You know that you don't have to academically become one unit to be considered a married couple on school property, right?", she teased.

Instead of answering Levi let out a loud laugh that sounded sincere. "Who could hold it against me, that I want to spend as much time with her as possible", I finally stated.

The secretary checked Poppy out from head to toe, or whatever she was able to see with us standing in front of her desk. "You also know Poppy is taking various AP classes?"

I looked at my wife, wondering how much I still didn't know about her. She shrugged. "Calculus, British Lit, English Lit and European History."

"I know now", I winked at Ginger.

"Okay, honey. Take a seat, while I change your schedule. This will take a few minutes."

Poppy stared at me speechlessly. "Why are you doing this?", she whispered after a few seconds. "You'll have to study the whole time. You'll barely have any time left for yourself if you want to keep up with your swim training schedule as well. This is ridiculous. Tell her to stop."

"I won't. I want to spend time with you."

"We could have simply spend some time together after school. You know this, right?"

"We'll do this as well."

"It's a little too much", she mouthed, so Ginger wouldn't hear her. It wasn't. I wanted to get to know everything about her and not just the things she told me. I figured if we shared the same schedule, I'd find out first hand which assignments kept her up, whom she was friends with and who might be insane enough to either make a move on her or insult her in any way ever again. Let's just say, whoever did, would regret it deeply.

The bell for first period had already rang when Ginger printed out our schedule. Since both of us hadn't been in homeroom yesterday Poppy hadn't gotten hers yet either.

We slowly walked to our Spanish class and I felt her fidgeting next to me.

"Calm down, love. It's gonna be okay today. We're in this together."

"Yeah, this might be the only positive outcome of you changing your schedule."

"We would have had homeroom together anyway, since we share the same last name."

She smiled and stopped in front of the door of Ms. Garcia's class. "You're right."

I lifted my hand to caress her cheek and leant in for a quick peck on her cheek, too. "Let's go", I whispered while I held the door open for her. We walked in holding hands.

Ms. Garcia turned to face us. "Ah, Ms. Hall and Mr. Lawson, I don't recall seeing you in class yesterday."

"Actually it's Mrs. Lawson now", I said, never getting tired of correcting people on this matter.

Ms. Garcia glared at me. Then she shoved her glasses back up the bridge of her nose without ever leaving my eyes. "Is this your way of telling me you eloped to get married yesterday?"
