[ Chapter 8 ]

Dawn came by, they were all up and were getting ready for the road. Genesis, Crystal and Lynx were preparing breakfast for the team which consist of toast, sandwiches, cereal, milk and canned coffee. Knox and Genesis were checking everyone's RS-21 for damages and knifes while the others were double checking their own backpack to make sure that everything needed is packed. 

Crystal: Breakfast's ready.

They all ate in silence, not taking long, they've finished their meal and had changed into their new clothes and shoes. They gathered around for final briefing. 

Knox: Don't lose them again, we don't have extras. (Passing out knives)

Genesis: Please activate your RS-21s to see if it has changed from metal bats or rods. Be careful when you press the button, remember hold it vertically and face it somewhere safe alright. 

All: (Nods)

Everyone activated their RS-21 to check their weapons, some of them had slightly sharpened ends while some had rods coming out from two ends. Nevertheless they were still excited upon using their RS-21s. 

Genesis: Yea, it's fine, it takes a while to train them to different weapons. 

Knox: Wait till they could custom their RS, they're gonna be more excited than now. (Says to Genesis) 

Genesis: I know right. (chuckles) Ready everyone? (While retracting her RS-21) We're leaving.

They looked at their safe place once more and left. Slowly moving their way out of the mall through the escalators, they successfully avoided any zombies and arrived at the bike shop that was at the ground floor. There were a few zombies in it but was easily killed by the team, they went in and choose whatever they want.

Lincoln: Take the bikes from this section, they're so far the best compared to others.

Ocean: They're all so pretty.

Lara: I know, right.

Genesis: They look futuristic (looking through different bikes)

After choosing their bikes, they headed straight to the entrance of the mall. The world outside looks so different like how it was supposed to be, they were so used to seeing it this way that they can't imagine how it looked like normally. Dead bodies were seen everywhere, cars and vans that crashed were all over the place. Groans and moving zombies could be seen. How are they going to survive, they wondered. A sky bridge is seen at the right side of the mall, it connects several buildings together and it also provide shortcuts to several places.

Genesis: This way, we'll be passing through the sky bridge. It's too dangerous for us to go on the roads. (Staring at the bunch of undead)

They brought their bikes up the stairs and rode on them as they enter. The sky bridge was surprisingly empty, random noise could be heard. They cycled for about 1 hour, passing through different junctions of the long sky bridge.

Sydney: These bikes are so smooth!

Genesis: I know, right? They're really quiet too.

Lynx: Wish I had these way before (frowns) they're really good.

As they changed junction, they saw a few at the far end of other junctions. They paddled away quietly, avoiding contact with the undead.

Lara: Where are we at now Genesis?

Genesis: Hold on (Checks tablet) not even a bit close I'm afraid, the tower is really far.

Lara: Alright, thanks.
