[ Chapter 14 ]

Everyone was taken back by Knox that passed out so suddenly, they brought him up and laid him on the bed. Genesis remembered what Leon said and tried activating her powers again but nothing happened, she started to panic and was on the verge of breaking down.

Dr Ares: Genesis, look, you need to calm down. If not it wouldn't work. He's still alive just that he damaged his soul by using too much power at once. 

Genesis: (Nods her head and sits down to calm herself)

Dr Yves: I think we should go, we'll be at the other room If you need anything alright?

Genesis: Thanks.

The rest of LOS(9) and the doctors left them, Genesis turned back to face Knox. She played with his hair softly and tried to compose herself before she gets all panicky again. Genesis interlocked her fingers with his gently, she noticed how peaceful he look suddenly flash backs of memories that they had together started to play in her mind.

*Flashback 1*

It was their fourth year in combat school, Genesis entered the class with her friends like usual and sat down at her own seat to get ready for her class. In front of her was a tall boy named Knox, they weren't friends yet, they were just classmates back then. Halfway through class, he kept blocking her view and she was struggling to see whatever the teacher has written.

Genesis: (Thoughts) Why would the teacher put him in front of me when he's so much more taller than me jeez.

She did try to move sideways to get a clearer look but every time she moves, he would then move as well. Genesis gave up shifting herself and tapped on his shoulder.

Genesis: Hey Malstorm, can you please stop moving sideways, I can't really see what's on the board.

Knox: (Looks back with monotone face) Short. (Turns back to front while blocking her more)

Genesis: Great. (Annoyed)

That was how they became best friends, since then they have been together for most of the time, even after school. Genesis's friends teased her of course but she didn't care about it and just get along with whatever they said.

At first Knox was that one stone cold guy who doesn't talk much and doesn't smile at all back then, until Genesis became his friend. Genesis was curious about Knox as she doesn't see him hanging out with others most of the time, even before becoming her friend.

Genesis: Why don't you join your friends sometimes?

Knox: I ...

Genesis: Cause if I'm with my friends, you'll be alone.

Knox: I'm fine, got used to it since young. I enjoy being lonely sometimes.

Genesis: Oh. I hope I didn't force you to become my friend then since you –

Knox: No, you're ... Nevermind, I've got to go now. See you tomorrow. (Waves)

Genesis: A-alright then, see you (waves back)

Genesis was still curious about that but she decides to just drop the topic as she could see that Knox didn't really want to talk about it.

*Flashback 2*

Genesis: You need help with that?

Knox: ...

Genesis: Here, you need to do it like this then use that here. (While showing him)

Knox: That's, so much easier.

Genesis: Exactly, now you do it.

Knox copied her move and completed his work, he looked up to Genesis.
