Chapter 18

Summer holidays are nearing; there's approximately 1 more week left until every student could be sleeping in all day or goofing around with their friends or, playing to their hearts content.
It's been quite eventful too.

Hanako still bombarded the two with activities-some risky, like using the pool at night or baking in the home economics room.

But of course they made sure not to leave any evidence; there was definitely some excitement in the sense that they were being rebellious.

Yashiro lumbers towards the old girls bathroom; the heat is slowing her down, as the temperatures have risen to ones much higher than the previous weeks. It hasn't rained for ages;
It's a heatwave.
Blowing out hot air, she continuously wipes her forehead with the back of her palm but, it's not very effective in cooling her down.
Yashiro:"Hanako kun, I'm here." She yawns.
Hanako:"Yo Yashiro." He closes a book that was probably 'borrowed' from Tsuchigomori years ago.
Hanako:"You're feeling hot aren't you?"
Yashiro:"You're lucky you don't feel the heat Hanako kun." She lets her hair loose.
Hanako:"Sorry about that." He gently pats her forehead dry with a handkerchief.
Yashiro:"Eh!? Ah it's fine!" She flails her hands.
"You don't have to-"
Hanako:"Almost done."

This is not helping her cool down at all, in fact, now she's sweltering.

Yashiro:"Hanako kun, how come-"
Hanako:"Hmm?"

How come you're not making fun of how much of a mess I look?
Usually I'd be scolding you right now because of it.
Hanako:"There."
Yashiro:"Th-thank you."
She blushes, her eyes meeting his as she looks up.

Hanako:"No problem."
He rests his hand on her head all while turning his away so that they're not making eye contact.

Kou:"I'm here senpai, Hanako!" He waves, beaming like never before.

Yashiro:"Hey, Kou kun."
She smiles.

Kou:"Hanako are you going to see spider sensei today?"

Hanako:"Yeah, so you guys can just chill out a bit 'till I get back."

Kou:"Got it!"
He snaps his fingers.

Hanako:"Oh and er actually-"
He pulls Yashiro and pulls Kou together so that their shoulders touch.
"Make sure you look after her okay?"

Kou:"Eh?"

Yashiro:"Hanako kun?"

Hanako:"Keep each other company."  He winks with a mischievous smile.

Hanako nudges Kou before descending.

Kou:"What was all that about?"

Yashiro:"Who knows..."

Kou:"Well whatever, he's usually like that anyway isn't he? But senpai, I know what he said but I kinda have something I need to do..."
Yashiro:"You too?"

Kou:"Yeah, though it'll only take 10 minutes for the longest and then I'll come straight back. Please!" He clasps his hands together with his eyes closed.

Yashiro:"Kou kun, you don't have to be so serious about it!" She sticks her hand out to reassure him.
"Go ahead."

Kou:"Thank you senpai!" He runs off.
...
"Pfft, now all the vegetables are dying because of the heat." A slender boy with fuchsia hair mumbles, crouching over them.
"They should have been taken in a long time ago and now they can't be eaten so what was the point of growing them all this time then?"

Kou:"Mitsuba!" He shouts with his hand cupped around his mouth.

Mitsuba:"Eh?" He looks up.

Kou:"Huh? What's wrong?"
He asks seeing the boy appear confused by his entrance.
