By the time I have finished, Hero appears well rested, with a stretch, complete with a cheeky grin on his face.

"Hey, where do you want me to start?"

I stop mopping and turn to face him, my eyebrow raised and a smirk on my face.

"Really, Hero?" I say, gesturing with my hand to the room around us.

"Oh, shit. You did that quick."

"Yeah, well I had a lot of help." I tease.

"Honestly, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you." He grins at me, instantly making me feel somehow less annoyed at him.

"And how are you going to do that?"

"Don't know, suppose I'll have to think of something." He says before enjoying another big stretch.

"Whatever." I smile, picking up the bucket and taking it to the utility room to be emptied.

"So, what now?" He says following me.

"I dunno? I was going to go and see if there were any further updates on the news and then.."

I noticed how the smile faded from his face the second I mentioned the news.

"And then, I was going to have a shower and maybe read.."

"What about watching a movie?" He suggests.

"We can do that!" I smile, trying to lift his spirits.

"Good." He says, before stepping aside so I can leave the room.

In the end, I decided to have a shower before going to chill out in the living room. It made sense, seeing as I had felt so dirty earlier after cleaning and drying the whole kitchen.

Deciding on a pale pink pyjama top with matching shorts, I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs.

Gathering my hair to place it in a bun, I entered the living room only to immediately let go of it.

"Really? So you are going to sit there and smoke? Even after earlier?!"

"Yep. Care to join?" Hero inhales before holding the cigarette out to me with half a smile.

I fold my arms, remaining silent and letting the expression on my face do all the talking.

My hair continues to fall around my face and shoulders, but I don't care. I'm too focused on what I'm seeing right now but still not quite believing.

"Suit yourself.." He breathes out and sinks a little further back into the sofa.

I don't want to have a go at him, but after earlier, I can't help but worry that he might accidentally set off the fire alarms again, or worse..
