The next morning, I woke up early and jumped in the shower before heading downstairs, ready to do some yoga.

I figure after last night, Hero will still be in bed for quite some time and I don't blame him.

Yoga workout complete, I returned upstairs to get dressed and ready for the day.

Well, that had been the plan anyway.

The moment I had sat on my bed however, I must've fallen asleep because the next thing I know, I am being woken to the sound of a knock on my door followed by Hero's face peering around it.

"Morning. Well, afternoon technically." He corrects himself.

"Mm.. What?" I say groggily, trying to force myself to sit up and come too.

"I.. Thought you might be hungry." He says expectantly and as my vision clears, I realise he is holding out a tray with what appears to be some food along with a glass of apple juice.

I hold my breath and frown, still trying to work out if this is all real or a dream.

"You do like pancakes.. Don't you?" He looks more than a little bit worried which instantly makes me feel bad.

"I love them." I quickly try to reassure him with a smile despite still being half asleep. "But Hero?"

"..Yeah?" He answers hesitantly.

"You didn't have to do all this.. Not for me.." I tell him.

"What, a couple of pancakes and a glass of juice?" He scoffs putting the tray down on my lap.

I shoot him a questioning look to which he replies "It's nothing! Really."

I sigh as he sits at the end of the bed and tells me "Seriously, it's no biggie."

"Have you eaten?" I ask.

"Maybe." He frowns.

I shake my head.

"What?" He laughs.

"Have you or not?" I raise my eyebrows at him and when he doesn't answer, I roll my eyes and move closer to him.

"Here." I say, holding out the tray.

"What? No, I made them for you." He says pointing at me.

"Us.." I corrected him, picking up the fork he had provided me with from the tray and breaking off a little bit of the pancake using the side of it.

"Here." I turn to face him and hold the fork out to him.

He frowns, narrowing his gaze at the offending piece of pancake before meeting his green eyes with mine.

"No. Jo."

Naturally, I ignore him and push the food towards him only he leans back and manages to avoid it while narrowly avoiding knocking the tray over and spilling my juice, too.

Now that I'm feeling more awake, I take the tray and place it on my bedside table before turning to Hero and smiling with the fork still in my hand.

"Jo, I said no.."

I shrug and slowly move towards him whilst grinning like the Cheshire Cat out of Alice and Wonderland.

"Come on Hero, open wide.."

"Uh, uh. Nope. No.. No way."

"Yes way." I laugh, climbing onto the bed and crawling over to him.

I laugh even more as I watch how his feeble attempts at escaping across my bed end up with him backing himself into the corner of my bedroom wall and I end up nearly losing the piece of pancake altogether through laughing so much.

"Don't be such a baby!" I giggle and crawl even closer.

With his knees pulled close to him, he holds his arms up protectively over his head making me want to laugh even more at his overreaction.

"Hero!" I plead, trying to move his arms with one hand and failing.

"No." I hear his muffled voice followed by a laugh.

"Just one bite! Then I'll leave you alone." I tell him.

He slowly lowers his arms and studies me carefully through narrowed eyes.

I raise my eyebrows and smile at him while pursing my lips.

He leans forwards with a frown as he to tries to see what's left of the pancake.

I waste no time in pouncing forwards and half mounting him in an attempt to hold him down.

"Jo!" He exclaims. "What are you doing?!"

"Making sure you eat, obviously.." I quip as we both continue to struggle and laugh.

In the end, Hero wins and manages to prize the fork from my finger and thumb before throwing it to the other side of the room.

While I watched with an open mouth as the piece of silverware went flying, he took it upon himself to get me back by forcing his body weight on me and pushing me back until I'm quite literally pinned to my own bed.

"What?!" He laughs, his face mere inches from mine.

"Nothing I just.. Can't believe I didn't see that coming.." I admitted, adjusting to the feeling of his body weight on mine.

"That as in me." He grinned.

"Yes." I laugh

"Whats the matter, you want me to get up?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Well.. Yeah?!" I frown as if it should be perfectly obvious.

"Say the magic word." He shrugged.

"Please..?" I hazard a guess.

"Pretty please." I try again.

"With a cherry on top." He smirks.

"How about.." I say thoughtfully. "A.. Blueberry." I referred to the pancakes again, my eyes still fixed on his.

"Oh you had to do it didnt you." He narrowed his eyes at me.

I bit my lip to try and hide my smile but it was no use, he seen straight through it.

Next thing I knew, he had begun an assault of tickles all over me; leaving me a giggling hot mess.

That was at least until he got distracted when my phone started to ring both typically and thankfully.
