Olive's pov

  After classes were over I went to the pizza shop Ainsley is working at. "Hey Liv!" Esme called to me. "Hey." "Okay so this girl, Jolene, invited Milo and me to a pool party on Saturday and we can invite anyone we want so... I want to invite you!" Ainsley said excitedly.

    "I don't know Ainsley." I say unsure. "Come on please! Milo has invited David and Trent and of course Esme. So now I'm inviting you!"

"S-"

"PLEASE!"

   "I WAS GOING TO SAY SURE, but now I'm not so sure." I said crossing my arms and turning away. She grabbed my shoulder and turned me back.

"Olive." She pleaded.

" Okay! I'll go."

"Good! Because I also invited River."

"You... WHAT?!"

"Yup." She said popping the "P".

"Ainsley!"

"I'm sorry I can't talk now I have to get back to work!"

I huffed and left to go home.

River's pov

As soon as I got home I saw Olive walking towards the stairs wearing sweats and... MY HOODIE? Why was she wearing my hoodie? "Hey!" She jerked around and saw me.

"Oh hi."

"Don't hi me, give me back my damn hoodie. Now!" "Okay okay sorry I didn't know." She said taking off the hoodie and... wow. Her shirt came up with it and I caught a glimpse of her toned stomach. She handed the hoodie to me and I just stared at her.

  With a dry mouth I gave her a raspy thanks and marched to the bathroom to take a shower.

Maybe a cold one.

Olive's  pov

  Why was he being so cold to me? Just the other day he was comforting me when my father and I had that fight. He has more mood swings than a girl.

Geez.

(Day of Pool Party)

We were walking through Jolene's house towards the pool. "Remind me again why you invited River." I whispered to Ainsley.
"Because I think you two would make a cute couple." I gave her a disgusted look as we arrived to the pool.

   There's a little to many people here for comfort. Correction, there's a little to many half naked people here for comfort. We squeeze our way through the crowd of drunk people dancing up on each other and to a empty spot for us to sit.

  We've been here for about four hours now and not once have we gotten into the pool, I have become deaf due to the blaring music. We haven't seen Trent since we got here because he disappeared into a crowd of girls.

   Almost everyone has gone back to their own homes either because they got bored or way to drunk. Jolene said we could stay even though it was already one in the morning. Trent, who finally returned unfortunately, and David did a back flip into the pool then Milo and Esme joined them.
"Come on Olive." Said Ainsley as she took off her shirt and jumped in. I hesitated then took off my own shirt but I didn't jump in.

    I gasped as River picked me up bridal style and threw me into the pool. I came up for water as I heard them laughing and cheering on River. Why did he do that to me? I swam towards the edge where River stood and I reached my hand up for him to take and when he did I pulled him into the water.

But he didn't resurface.
