Ainsley's pov

Olive came into our room crying and she told me why. I wanted to kill that sick twisted pervert. She laid her head in my lap while I played with her hair. She eventually fell asleep when River came in.

"Is she okay?" "No, but she's stronger than she looks." He sighs then leaves the room.

I didn't even bother to wake Liv up this morning. I know she feels broken right now. She's needs time to heal.

Esme and I have been trying to get her to come out with us but it's useless. She says she's fine and she goes ab out her day as if nothing happened to her, but I know she's not truly fine.

"Hey Liv?"

"Yeah."

"There's an opening at Antonio's Pizza if you want a job." I tell her, remembering what my boss said. "Thanks Ainsley, after I quit my current job I'll check it out." "Wait. You still haven't quit yet? What are you waiting for?!"

"I've been to scared to go there alone." She says looking down at her feet. "I'll go with you." River offers as he enters the kitchen.
"You don't have t-" "I want too." He states, cutting her off.

River's pov

We haven't spoken a word to each other since we left the house. Instead the usual awkward, uncomfortable silence accompanied us.

We enter the building and I can feel her stiffen beside me. "Are you okay?" I whisper.
She nods slowly. We get on her bosses floor when a familiar face greets us.

Charles Wallace.

Charlie and I used to be best friends in high school. Olive on the other hand doesn't look as happy to see him. Charlie was always the kind of guy who slept with every girl he laid eyes on. He could've been the one to touch her, I just hope I'm wrong.

   "Olive Quinn." He says seductively.

Shit.

She takes a step back and instinctively I step in front of her to shield her from him.
"River! Buddy! How have you been?" I don't answer. In stead I tackle him to the ground I really hope he's the one who hurt her because I'm pretty sure I just broke his nose. All I saw was red until I heard her voice call my name.

"RIVER! STOP!" She pleaded. I got off Charlie who could barely move and turned to her. "I'm sorry, I-"

I didn't have a chance to finish my sentence when Charlie's fist made contact with the back of my head. This time I wasn't the one to fight back. Surprisingly it was Olive.

She kneed him in his nuts then punched him across his face. She grabbed my hand and we ran with Charlie cussing behind us.
