Olive's povI walked up to his door and I just stood there not knowing why I had the urge the confront him but I did. Unsure as to where this new found confidence was coming from I did the most irrational thing I could think of doing at that moment.
I knocked.
River's pov
As soon as I sat down on my bed I heard a knock. I jerked the door open only to see her so I closed the door in her face before her lips could release a word.
I waited.
It was quiet inside the door so I opened it a bit and peeked through. She was gone. I close the door back and I pulled my cigarettes out of my sweatpants pocket.
I know smoking is bad for you. Yet, I still smoke. It's not to look cool, honestly, it's a good stress reliever. After the cigarette burned out, I laid down and stared up at the ceiling until darkness enveloped me.
Olive's pov
BEEEEEP
Drowsily I picked up my phone to turn off my 6:00 alarm. I laid there for an extra two minutes until I finally got out of bed and I grabbed a box with my clothes still in it that I failed to unpacked, and picked out a black denim skirt and a beige sweater since it was starting to get colder out. Then I went into the bathroom to change and do my morning routine.
I went down stairs to make breakfast and Ainsley was already up and making her breakfast smoothie. Ainsley and I have been best friends since we were 5, so for 17 years we've attempted tolerate each other.
Kidding.
But we are complete opposites;
she's tan, I'm pale
she has to have a boyfriend, I couldn't careless
she's likes showing off her body, I like being concealed
she likes big groups of people and going out to parties, I like staying home and either drawing or reading
she's fun and everyone loves being around her, I'm dull and people prefer hanging with her
she's gorgeous, I'm not.I'm not jealous of Ainsley though, I like that we're different. Because if we were the same it would be boring. Plus, we both have our own insecurities. She's my person and I'm hers.
We do have tons of similarities too.
Both of our favorite foods are anything Chinese, we both have the same taste in music for the most part."OLIVE!" Ainsley called, "I've been calling your name for the past five minutes! Are you okay?" "Uhm? Oh.. umm.. yeah I'm okay. Sorry I'm still a little tried."
"It's okay do you want some coffee Milo's making some." I scrunched my nose at the smell of coffee and now cigarettes as River came out of his room and into a bathroom.
I ignored him despite feeling him looking at me."Ains, you know coffees not my favorite I'll just make some tea instead. Thank you though." I said a little more awake this time.
I felt an arm drape over my shoulders and I knew who it was too. "Hey babe, lookin good this morning." Trent says as he looked me up and down but I just ignore him.Ainsley and Milo have been dating for a year now almost two and they carpool together to the university since she doesn't have a car. As Milo hands her her coffee and kisses her, they say their goodbyes to us and they leave.
Trent bends down to my level and tries to kiss me so I punch him in the face. "HEY! What was that for?" Trent cries while holding his right cheek with his best friend laughing behind him. "You deserved that mate!" Dave laughs.
David is from London he moved here three years ago and for some unknown reason only God knows, he became friends with Trent. Oh! He also has a huge crush on Esme. We all know it except her but I'm pretty sure she likes him too, well she is at least in love with his accent which I don't blame her.
Soon Esme comes down the stairs not looking where she's going and trips. Dave runs to catch her and the catch is good!
Esme's face is as red as her crimson shirt which also matches Dave's face.Trent and Dave look at each other and Trent wiggles his eyebrows at his and Esme's position. Dave helps her up and she mutters a meek thank you.
"I can drive you if you want me to." I offer Esme since she also doesn't have a car and her cousin left her. "Sure." She responds with a smile. She grabs an orange and I grab my green tea and we head to my blue Mini Cooper.

"Olive wake up!" Devin whispers as she shakes me awake. "I can't believe I fell asleep on my first lecture." I mentally face palm myself. "It's okay you can have my notes." She says quietly as she slides me her notes.
"Thanks.""Okay, we will be having a pop quiz tomorrow so read chapters four and five tonight. Dismissed." Mr. Knight the business course professor says with no enthusiasm what so ever.
Everyone groans as they start packing their things away to hurry to their next class.
I look over to thank my desk mate again but she had already taken off. So I go to my other classes alone.(Devin Yates)
