Chapter 3 ~ Murder

You decide to go for a walk, going down the lane and into the woods. You where about 10 mins in then suddenly you see blood. Agast you stumble back but drawing together your bravery you look around a tree to see a dead man's body slumped against it.

You went into shock but remebered your first aid traning, he had been stabbed recently, blood still gushed out of his wound, you felt helpless and scared, trembling.

You placed your hands around the knife to stop the bleeding, gently nudging him, saying that you where a first aider.

Soon, you didn't know what do. He was breathing quietly but you didn't want to leave him where a stabber may attack him again. At this point you where scared shitless and where in shock.

'I'm sorry' you say, looking round, none was around. You quickly ran back home, smashing the door open.

'Father' you shout.

Your uncle looks up 'T-theres a man in the woods' you stutter 'He's bleeding'.

Father brown quickly stands 'Where?' he enquires quickly

'By the lake' you stutter.

'go to the police (y/n)!' he shouts before running out.

You run into the police station, sobbing and shaking.

Tom who was in the entrance of the police station turned round to see you tumbling in the doorway 'There's a man in the woods, he's bleeding. I tried to stop it' you say trembling.

Immidiatly Tom knelt down 'are you Okay? where is the body, we need to get find him'

You nod. 'It's by the lake' you say 'unc- I mean the father has already gone down'.

The inspector rolled his eyes at this but told the Sargent and a couple of others to go and find the body.

He slowly lifts you up. 'let's get you cleaned up' he cooed, walking you to the bathroom.

'What happened?' he asked gently, turning on the tap and letting the blood wash from your hands.

'I was walking and I saw the man, he was breathing and I tried to stop the flow of blood by putting my hands over the wound to stop the bleeding' you stutter.

'Did you see anyone else' He asked, starting to stroke your hair gently to calm your stuttering.

'no, wait' you pause 'I saw a woman leaving the woods I think, I'm not sure who she was. I-I'm sorry' you stammer.

'It's okay' he says gently.

He turned off the tap and walked you to his office, sitting you down.

'Do you want to go home, we will still need an official statement' he says.

You mod 'I'll do it now' you say, calming yourself

He nods and you go through the questions. When you finish you get up to leave.

'let me drive you' Tom says, standing. 'I need to go to the scene anyway'

'No its fine' you mummer.

'seriously (y/n)' he says, a little demanding this time.

'Fine' you say, following him to a car.

He pulls out of the car park and drives along the street, stopping at the rectory.

'Thank you' you say, leaving the car.

He nods and smirks a little before driving off.

You go inside and have a long shower, mulling over what happened in your mind.

In the end you get out the shower and get dressed.

The father was downstairs

'are you okay?' he mummers.

'yes' you say, sitting at the chair.

He starts grilling you on what happened and admits his hobby of uncovering murders.

You find it funny but agree on helping.

While your uncle went to talk to the man's wife you went back to the place you saw the dead man, looking around the leaves for any clues.

'hello (y/n).' you turn to see Tom.

'Hi' you say turning. 'I want to thank you for taking me home, I needed a walk though, to clear my head'

Tom nods 'It would be better for you to be at home, just incase the murder saw you'.

You nod

'I'll take you home' he says, offering you to link his arm in yours. You take it and he walks you back to the rectory slowly.

'I have dinner next week booked with the queen's head, I wondered if you would join me?' he asked, his voice quivering a little.

'that would be lovely' you say.

'great' he says, grinning 'it is booked for Thursday at 7pm, I hope to see your then'

'yes, then it's a date' you giggle and smile at him him before letting go of his arm and walking into the rectory.

He waves slightly and you wave back before closing the door.

'did your find anything, also why are you blushing? ' the father's voice asked, you had walked strait into him.

'nothing' you state before sitting in the kitchen.
