Layla and Christina are sisters. But they are poles apart.
While Christina is a friendly and sweet extrovert, Layla is the sarcastic introvert who prefers books over people.
Let's get one thing clear. Layla and Christina don't hate each other. Well, at least Christina doesn't. You see, ever since they were kids, people always preferred Christina over Layla. It was easy for queen chickee to make friends. For Layla, ehh. Not so much.
Being under appreciated doesn't exactly boost your self esteem, and Layla is living proof for that. She doesn't hate Christina, but she wishes she were her. Pretty like her. Fit like her. Social like her. Basically everything about her. Layla doesn't really talk about her feelings, especially to Christina. She was far too social to see past her sister's fake happiness and see the grief that lay hidden beneath it.
Christina studied fashion at FIT, while Layla studied finance in Baruch college. After both of them got their diplomas, Layla was having some trouble finding an apartment in the bustling city of New York. As always, it was a piece of cake for Christina. Which is why the two sisters are living together now.
As you would know, Christina is dating the one and only Corbyn Besson of the amazing man-band Why Don't We. Since they are on a break for now, and the Harris sisters were close friends with the boys, they decided to spend a month or two in New York for a while. It also served as bonding time for the oh-so-lovely Corbina.
Every time Christina did something flattering, Layla rolled her eyes. She hated hating Christina, but it was instinct. Even their parents preferred her over Layla, and she hated that. She hated herself for that. Christina never saw her sisters grief, because Layla never showed it. From the day they were born, Christina got all the attention and Layla was forgotten. It was pretty simple. Christina was beautiful. And Layla wasn't. But one person felt otherwise.
Daniel seavey. He had feelings for Layla, but she couldn't see it. She obviously felt the same, but wasn't good at showing it. You see, it's times like these when having a sister in a committed relationship is helpful, but she wasn't gonna go talk to her sister. Layla didn't like Christina, and there was nothing anyone could do to change that.
Anyways, enough with the sad flashbacks. Let's get back to the present. The boys plane landed, and the Harris sisters were waiting at the gate for them. Christina got a text from Corbyn that their flight landed, and was grinning from ear to ear.
"How does your face not hurt from smiling that much?" Layla asked.
"Will you hush, just let me have my moment." Christina sassed back and Layla rolled her eyes. They kept going like this back and forth until someone tapped Christina on the shoulder.
