*michael pov

we have only 3 weeks left here in Cali and of course I would fuck the rest of my time up. I'm so dumb. I should've never told her about that stupid just friends bullshit, I should've just let myself fall because now she's with someone else and I'm fucking screwed because ,

I like Gwen.

But I didn't tell her. I was supposed to confess how much I like her just last night but I didn't.

Now it's 3am and I'm sitting here thinking of how stupid I am.

I slid under my covers, pulling them over my shoulders and just below my chin. I sleep like a girl. don't judge me.

I started to doze off, finally. until my phone rang.

I picked it up, huffing because I was just almost asleep.

I answered, not bothering to look at the caller ID.

"hello?" I answered harshly, sitting up.

"Michael are you awake?" lukes voice echoed through the phone.

"No I'm talking on the phone in my sleep." I rolled my eyes.

I heard him stay silent before chuckling to himself on the other end.

"Sorry. Come outside I'm in the car. I'm hungry." With that he hung up.

Damn Luke, I was still pissed but who would say no to food am I right?

I pulled on some plaid pajama pants that were laying on the floor next to numerous other items that I never bothered to pick up.

I left our rented house with only one boot on, the other in my hand. the headlights poured into my eyes, making me squint and raise my hand to shield them.

I rushed to the car, getting in the front seat quickly.

"Jesus, turn your bright lights off."

"I'm Luke, not jesus." he smirked, making me let a low laugh out, which I automatically shut up. I was supposed to be mad at him, not laughing along to the funny remark i accidentally made.

the ride was silent, driving to Panda Express. The only sound being some random motionless in white song. I didn't mind really, I wasn't hear to talk to luke, I was here for food.

We ordered our food and stayed silent for awhile, me scrolling through my phone.

"Damnit Michael talk to me." Luke busted first, making me set my phone down. I shook my head, not wanting to speak.

"fuck." Luke rolled out the 'u', clearly getting aggravated.

"you know luke, I don't hate you." I pointed out, "I'm just bluntly pissed off with you."

"I know, shit, think I don't? Please tell me something." He begged.

"Something." I said sarcastically.

Like groaned and put his hands up in surrender.

"You know what. I'm done. find your own way home ass hole." He stood up, storming out. I rushed after him, slowly started to feel like shit.

"Luke wait," I turned luke around quickly before he rushed out of the door.

"WHAT Michael?" he snapped.

"I'm sorry." I said, looking down. Wow I'm an ass. No wonder Gwen got over me so quickly.

he sighed, going to the front counter, giving the cashier a $20 before grabbing the bag and walking away. he walked passed me and towards the car. at first I thought he was going to leave me until he backed up and parked in front of me,

"Come on Mikey." he unlocked the doors.

I hurried into the car, buckling up.

"Michael, I know you're pissed off at me. But you have to realize, I didn't do that on purpose." he explained, "I was so drunk that I could barely see. You know Miranda? The girl that I started talking to 5 months ago?"

"I get it. I'm just... uneasy about it. And yes, I know who you're talking about." I nodded my head.

"We've been having a lot of problems lately. that's why I've been out partying like crazy. I've just been feeling like shit because Michael I'm falling hard for her. Like love. But the tour has been fucking everything up. she told me she didn't want to be together anymore because of the distance. So, I've been out, just getting laid to get laid." he held up his hand to keep me from saying anything, "but I didn't now it was going to be Gwen. Like I said, I was drunk out of my mind. Michael, I know you're pissed, or uneasy, whatever, but please know that I would never purposely hurt you." He pleaded. I stayed silent. I felt bad for being such a d i c k to luke.

"It's okay." I said, rubbing his back, "honestly I think it hurt me so much because you guys weren't going to tell me." I nodded, looking down at the floor boards, "this miranda chick, I guarantee she'll be back. you're a great catch luke. you're my best friend, and my brother. I know you. I bet she loves you back too. long distance shouldn't stop true love."

he nodded at my statement, looking down at his lap.

"Let's get back, it's 4:32am already." He changed the subject chuckling. I nodded in agreement.

The car back wasnt really that silent. it was filled with our loud sing along to Good Charlotte.

it's good to have my best friend back.
