Hey-hey Wattpad,

So now you must be wondering who are the groups? When I first went to my school, I thought that everyone would be welcoming and all that.

But I mean, we're all humans.

What I'm saying is it's still pretty divided between race and gender. Not trying to be offensive, by the way.

All of the boys hang out together. All of the girls hang out together.

Note that I'm just talking about my grade. The upperclassmen are more spread out than us, probably because they've known each other longer. Freshman tend to stick together, after all.

In the girl groups, there's always a group of White girls who hang out with the group of White guys. On the first day of school, they basically all knew each other from Instagram. Also, if someone's Half-White, they'll most likely join the White people group.

That being said, they're the party people, if you get what I mean. Of course, I'm just generalizing their group, not who they are as individuals. Surprisingly, there are barely any of them in clubs, at least the clubs that I'm in. Also, many of them are sport-recruits. They always hang out with each other, date each other, and are basically a closed group that doesn't allow others in.

Note that this isn't all of the White people at school, only the majority of them.

There's also a group of them who are day students and hang out together.

Besides the White group, there's an Asian girl group who hangs out a bunch with the Asian boy group a grade above them. And an Asian boy group. They're pretty cliquey, but I mean they all live together.

The racial groups are also divided by those who live together, by the way. Like people in the same dorms are closer to each other.

And then, there's the rest of us who stay together. Many of the other Asians, Latinx, White, and Black. We just kind of comingle with each other. Of course, there are also smaller groups within this melting pot, but it's otherwise pretty open.

Maybe I'm just wrong and looking at this from an extremely biased standpoint. Although, I do believe there's a lot of truth in what I've written since a lot of the people at school agree with me. Many people recognize the invisible divide between our groups and theirs.

Overall, the social groups at school are the same in many high schools, but I feel like everyone's trying to make an effort to be nice and know everyone else. We literally eat each other's foods and live together 24/7.

xoxo,

mrowwster
