This bulletproof thing is very uncomfortable and heavier than it looks. How can someone work with this? I've had it on for the whole ride here, and I still want to rip it off. The old man was persistent and wouldn't let me. He also screamed at the annoying guy for me. A lot. I wonder how they haven't killed each other by now. Obviously they had arguments like this before since the other operatives have no patience for these two. Well, they seemed to be more annoyed by the guy in the bright yellow suit thing.

The operatives talked about the mission and the plan once we got closer. Infiltrate a chemical factory, kill all the bad guys and leave. Sounds very easy and if they let me do my thing, we can go back to base and I could get some sleep. Sleep sounds good right now. I wouldn't have to hear these two argue anymore. Oh silence, how I miss you.

The moving boxed stopped a little ways away from the building and one by one the operatives left the vehicle. A small breeze moved through the trees surrounding us and the facility, giving me chills. Its dark walls could easily hide 100 armed men and another 200 could be hiding in the nearby trees. It's unsettling, but I have done escapades like this before. Nothing new. Something just doesn't feel right though, I can't explain it.

"Saber, you're with me" said the old man.

I've overheard others call him Thatcher, but old man seems more fitting. He doesn't seem to care where I came from or what I have done. It's a small reassurance that not all operatives want a detailed backstory of my life. Friends aren't something I want nor do I have time for any. I adjusted the heavy bulletproof vest while walking towards Thatcher. I want to complain about it, but I know it wouldn't get me anywhere.

"Whatever you do, try to stay within visual range of me. The last thing we need is you going rogue and end up getting shot without backup" he says.

"I don't see how that is any of your concern" I reply.

He needs to stop acting like he's my new father figure. What would happen if I get hurt on purpose out of spite? It would hurt, but I would do it just to anger him.

"Get shot all you want. All I'm saying is we're not gonna go on a treasure hunt for your corpse"

Cold, maybe he isn't that bad. Last thing I need are touchy-feely teammates. This might work out better than I thought.

"You understand the plan?" Thatcher asks.

"Yeah, we take the West side entrance, push our way in and eliminate any enemies" I repeat.

They devised this plan a few minutes ago, and it goes like this. Thatcher and I take the West side, while Hibana and Ash take the North entrance and Lion and Blitz take the North East. Then this Glaz guy covers us from outside. I have zero confidence in any of my teammates' abilities. Except for Thatcher, he's alright.

As we waited for Ash's signal, I fumbled with the vest again. Compared to my regular clothing, it was heavy. I hope it doesn't weigh me down too much.

"There's the signal. Stay with me" Thatcher says.

He started moving towards the building with me in tow. There wasn't any sound coming from the building. I don't know if that's better or worse. Thatcher and I slowly walked towards the West entrance. The old man motioned me to stand next to the door he stood on the other side.

"This is called breaching. I'm going to open the door, and you check the inside of the building, and I'll come in behind you. Got it?" the old man said.

I nodded my head and took out my blade from its scabbard. Thatcher twisted the door knob and the door slowly open to reveal a dimly lit interior. It looked abandoned, but some lights were turned on. I inched inside and was met with a small looking entrance room with some white coats hanging from one wall. On one wall, there was a glass panel that allowed people to look into a bigger area of the facility. Most of the light was coming from the bigger area and partly illuminated this room. I can see dust on the white coats and other parts of the room. Another door stood on the other side of the room from the one I just used to enter. Thatcher entered behind me and closed the door. A chill ran down my spine and I looked over at him.

"Keep moving forward" he said.

I go to open the next door, but something catches my eye. Moving closer to the glass panel, I notice some movement in the bigger area. Now and then, I see a group of three white silhouettes walking around, and then they would enter the shadows and I would lose sight of them.

"Ash, we spotted some White Masks inside the building. Can't tell you the exact number" Thatcher said through the communication system.

"Copy, all teams inside the building, take down any and all threats on my command. No need to be stealthy anymore" Ash replied.

"Copy, Blitz and Lion in position"

"Thatcher and Sabre waiting for signal"

"Go" Ash said.

Thatcher burst through the door and launched a weird grenade looking thing. I rushed in after him and as soon as I located an enemy, the lights went out. Great, how am I supposed to see them now?

"Sabre, just stay behind me" Thatcher ordered.

Gunfire started sounding off on the other side of the room. Thatcher replied by unloading his gun too. I really hate that sound. The lights turned back on a couple of minutes later. No movement could be seen, only dead bodies.

"Sweep the area" Ash ordered.

"Big Brother going up" said Lion. "Ash, I'm not detecting any movement except for ours"

"Good, meet in the middle"

Thatcher signaled me to follow him. We regrouped with Ash, Hibana, Lion and Blitz seconds later.

"Intel wasn't very good" Ash complained.

"What do you mean?" asked Blitz.

"Intel said this was a working chemical facility and the White Masks were on their way. It said nothing about a run down factory with targets already inside" she clarified.

"Does it really matter? No one got injured, and we got to kill some terrorist" said Blitz.

"It does. If intel is compromised then we can get ourselves into trouble without knowing it" Hibana replied.

"Whatever. Let's just go back to base" Lion added.

"It's not whatever. It can cost us our lives" Thatcher said.

"Look, I don't think it's that bad. We are trained to deal with it any-" Lion started to say.

"Ash we got movement outside" Glaz reported.

"How many do you see?" Ash asked over the comms.

"Too many. I spot 10 vans coming our way, fast"

"Retreat inside as fast as you can!" Ash ordered.

This isn't good.
