I yawned lazily and stretched. For a moment I could not remember why the bed I slept on was not as comfy as usual. Until the realization of the last few days came crashing back to me like a wave hitting the shore, great now I am thinking of the water like Wallace does. Speaking of Wallace. I threw the almost rock hard pillow at the fluffball who was curled up in a ball on the other side of the room.

"I swear I didn't do it master!" He shouted as he sat up. I could not help but laugh at his strange response. He looked over at me shocked. "You threw a pillow at me!" He shouted.

"Yes, yes Wallace I did, now what are you doing to do about it?" I mocked.

For some odd reason he then decided to not only throw the pillow I threw at him, he threw his at me as well. "I have been hit!"

"It's too early in the morning for this!" He shouted.

I looked over at the clock on the nightstand next to me "It is about seven in the morning, time to get up and ready for the day! Now get up and help me get ready to help me!"

Wallace groaned "Do I have to?"

"Yes."

"But this is your training not mine, why do I have to help?"

"I need my moral support."

"But it's like seven in the morning, your battle isn't until afternoon. Why do we have to get up so early?"

"Simple, I need some time to come up with the perfect strategy and you need to be my test dummy. Now get your lazy butt out of bed!" I ordered.

Wallace groaned as I dragged him out of the pokemon center before the clock even said eight.

"My beauty sleep!" Wallace whined in his dramatic manor.

"It is not like I dragged you out at five or four in the morning, deal with it!" I ordered.

******* (time skip brought to you by Devon Corps 'has anyone else noticed that these games are all monopolized by one large company?')

It took me most of the morning to get my strategy perfect. That is even with my test dummy of Wallace, who insisted on lounging on a large boulder on the beach. Without thinking I sat down next to him.

"You know that someday we are going to be people that everyone knows!" Wallace shouted.

"How do you figure?"

"Simple my friend!" He opened his eyes that flashed turquoise fire. "When I'm gym leader and you're the champion of the region we are going to be two of the most well known people in the region!"

I laughed at him "What makes you think I want to be champion?"

"You have a fire in your eyes that reminds me of the champion." Wallace informed.

"You have met the champion?"

"Yep he and master Juan spend time together, one of the perks of being the last gym leader. Which one day I will take over and one day you and I will need to have lunch in one of the cafés in Sootopolis where we can complain about not having strong challengers!"

"I doubt I will ever become the champion, but it is a nice dream." I looked out in to the ocean.

"You're no fun!" Wallace whined.

"Well" I stretched "I think it is time for me to start heading to the gym, are you coming?" I asked.

"I have faith in you, but I need to call my master." He gave me a sad look.

"Do not worry, I will do fine." I smiled.

We both stood up and started the walk back into the small town. We went our separate ways he smiled and told me 'good luck' before disappearing into the pokemon center. I closed my eyes and prepared for the fight to come.
