**I am adding a bit of a side story through Matt's eyes hope you like it.**

*Matt's POV*

"Ok, yeah that's fine I'll make sure to go there tomorrow" I hang up the phone with our neighbor Jen. She called to ask me for a favor she wants me to go pick up her niece from the airport. Jen never mentioned she had a niece I'm curious guess I'll find out tomorrow. Waking up I pull on some light blue jeans and a plain white tee and my black chucks. Grabbing my keys I rush downstairs "Wait a minute where do you think you're going young man" I stop dead in my tracks. "Jen asked me if I could go pick up her niece from the airport" my mom looks into my eyes a little suspicious "ok that's fine at least take an apple so you don't starve" she tosses me a red apple which I catch in mid-air "thanks bye see you later mom" I walk towards my car making the 40 min drive towards forks airport.

Once there I get bored from just sitting around and waiting I get down from the truck and lean on the hood I scan the entrance and don't see her yet *sigh*. I look down making a pebble lift off the ground spinning it faster and faster letting it fall to the ground before anyone notices I lift my head back up, I see a short girl looking around that must be her I walk towards her. *sniff* my nose twitches she's a new pup! so that's why she's here I see but there's something about her she's different I don't why It's like we're connected somehow. The closer I get the better I can see her she's pretty cute not gonna lie. Once in front of her, I hug her and spin her around and gently put her back down."you must be Alice. Nice to meet you I'm Mathew but you can call me matt" bending down I grab her bags "yes nice to meet you, Matt. You can call me Ali" I smile at her and open the passenger door for her "alright then Ali let me put your bags in the back and well be on our way"

After getting kicked out by Jen I head back home I finish eating dinner with my family and head upstairs to take a shower. I pull my shirt off and I'm about to walk upstairs when I hear the phone ring I turn around and head towards the kitchen "Carter Residence...... Oh, hey Jen what's up......yea I can train her I'll be there at 7 tomorrow alright bye" welp I guess I'm helping her train tomorrow. Heading back upstairs I take a shower and go to bed. Hearing a loud sound I look towards the nightstand it's my alarm I look at the time 6:50. I jump out of bed 6:50 SHIT!

I quickly sprint out the door shit I'm late I let a chuckle slip out. I pull up at Jen's house I see a face peer through the window Ali. A few seconds later she's out the door "your late" I smirk "sorry princess, traffic" lifting her eyebrows she looks at me "really that's your excuse, were in a small town and you live next door!" I laugh "fine I overslept, happy" she slaps my arm making me laugh even more. I start the truck and we head towards the gym there I have her practice hitting the punching bag to gauge her strength which at first is pretty pathetic making laugh. After a while practicing she eventually get the hang of and I start to teach other basics. I have to admit she learns pretty quickly. We finish training for the day and I take her back home.

*Monday*

Jennifer has arranged with the school for Ali to have the same classes I do so I can keep an eye on her. Well except for second period she chose to have an art class she does seem like the quite artistic type. Hearing the bell ring I turn towards her "Yes, lunchtime. Come on Ali" I grab Ali's wrist and pull her along into the cafeteria. Sitting down I tell her about Sappho and school and how I love working on cars. I tend to jump from one topic to another when I'm excited which thankfully she doesn't seem to mind I smile at her. I'm about to say something when suddenly I'm interrupted by a familiar voice behind me "who's the new cute pup you're keeping all to yourself?" he smiles towards Ali making me feel a bit irritated "oh shut up Alex. Don't listen to anything this guy says Ali he's a natural flirt" I say pointing at him and him being the jokester he is holds his chest pretending to be hurt by my remark "damn Matt thanks for ruining my chances" I laugh "like if you even had one, to begin with," hearing our little disagreement James and Dex join in these three knuckleheads are my best friends I can always count on them. Watching our conversation I see Ali smile out the corner of my eye.

With Alex having a small crush on Ali I plan to keep a good eye on him. I'm not at all surprised he falls for girls left and right claiming he does so he can find his destined mate faster. He sure knows how to give me a headache. It's been a month since Ali has moved into Jen's house she's been working really hard feeling she deserves a break from training I invite her to a bonfire this Saturday. Pulling up to her house I see her walk out towards my truck "Hey, matt" she climbs into the truck "Hi Ali you excited, your first bonfire" I'm excited its been a while since we young pack members have had a bonfire "yes super excited come on let's go" we pull up at the bonfire getting out of the car I see Alex, James, and Dex are already drinking. I turn to look at Ali and notice her face has gone completely pale I lean towards her "Ali are you ok? Here let me go get you some water." I go and grab a water bottle out the cooler walking back I hand her the water bottle "thanks" the guys finally see us and come our way I see Alex wraps his arm around her shoulder making frown "babe you look great tonight" noticing her sigh at his words brings a small smile on my lips. She Raises an eyebrow at him "babe?" she takes his arm off her shoulders. good. "since when?" he laughs "Really Alex it's been a month and you're still at it?" I smack his head maybe a little too hard "Ouch that hurt" Ali bursts out laughing. Alex now irritated pushes me back I raise my eyebrow and look at him. Making him smile. Fine, he wants to start something it's on I smile back and push him back. Eventually, we're throwing punches playfully I don't notice we've moved further away from the others. Knocking him down we roll on the ground trying to gain an upper hand on each other.

We're all having a good time talking, I take a sip of my beer enjoying the atmosphere. Suddenly I feel my body tense up *sniff* someone's near. Sensing trouble coming our way I walk towards Ali "no matter what happens stay behind me got it?" no longer goofing off I turn serious I see her trying to ask something but before she has a chance we hear a loud thud in front of us taking my attention away from her to the man now standing in front of us. Shit, I'd recognize that scent anywhere Sebastian Wayland great. Sensing his lingering gaze on Ali I step in front of her Alex notices as well and stands right beside me "New Pup? I've never seen her before" he says with a cold tone I don't like this "what are you doing here Wayland this is our territory" he shrugs smiling "what we can't party with you guys" I knew it! I hear rustling in the bushes my nose twitches he brought friends *sniff*. five. We should be able to take them down easily Wayland on the other hand won't be that easy and Ali could get hurt in the process. My body tenses up when Sebastine decides to take a step forward. He's too fast before I can even react he's right beside Ali! "She smells interesting" I growl when I see him grab her wrist. "Interesting....can't wait till you shift" he lets go of her giving me a menacing look he turns back "since it seems I'm not welcomed I'll be on my way" they disappear into the forest. FUCK! I grab her arm and pull to my truck opening the door I urge her to get in. I walk around the truck opening the door I hop in and start driving her home. "Matt who was that?" my jaw clenches I hesitate I don't know if I should tell her. But it'll be better if she knows, taking a deep breath I answer "that was Sebastian Wayland he's the next alpha of The Wayland clan, we've been rival clans since the beginning " dropping her off I explain what happened to Jen after watching them go inside I drive back to the guys.

Parking the car I see Dex is waiting for me "so is he still here?" he nods "seems so, they're tracking his scent right now we should go Wayland's too strong for just one of us." I nod we both shift and start running into the forest. We reach the guys in no time anger showing in my voice I ask them "where is he!?" Alex cautiously walks towards me "we lost his scent he must have gone into the river" James cuts in "he was heading northeast when we lost his sent" I growl "fuck" I take a deep breath Dex, James you head up northeast take two others with you, Alex and I will head east" I start running I have a bad feeling "what the hell Matt slow down!" I look at Alex "we have to hurry I have a feeling he's headed towards Jen's house" Alex nods and we pick up our speed. Getting closer I sniff the air "shit I knew it" he's near, there no telling what he'll do to her I need to hurry! I howl to let the others know, reaching their house I sniff around "he was just here" shit we lost him.

After that night at the bonfire, I knew I couldn't leave Ali alone with Sebastian taking an interest in her. He is very unpredictable what could he want with her? I decide to go back with Ali to make sure shell be safe. Jen talked with her brother they both agreed it would be a good idea for me to be at her side. Not only Sebastian worries me I also don't want her seeing Jake alone I'm not going to let him break her heart again.
