Shattered Wonderland

Chapter 16

Sitting in the living room I have my sketchbook on my lap ripping the sheet off I crumble it and toss it into the trash bin. I have too many things in my head I can't sketch anything frustrated I toss my sketch pad onto the coffee table. School starts in a week, I'm nervous its the first time I'll see Jake I haven't told him I'm back, and based on what Lizzy told me he won't be in the best mood. Damn it! "Hey...am I interrupting something?" turning around I see my dad peering through the doorway "no nothing" I smile wearily "I have a surprise follow me" standing up I walk right behind him we reach the door to the garage "ok now close your eyes" I'm intrigued at what it could be "ok" he grabs my hand and guides me through the door "Surprise" I open my eyes *gasp* I jump into my dad's arms "Thank you!" mom and Matt are standing beside my motorcycle "I can't believe you had it brought over thank you" I hug my mom this time. *cough* "the catch is you're going to have to share with Matt....his bike is on its way it won't be here till next week," he says apologetically. "It's fine its only for a week. Still, I'm thankful this is a great surprise." I smile at them.

Monday morning I'm up earlier than usual, looking at my closet I debate on what to wear. It's the first day of school and I want to start it off on a good note. I got it I grab my high waisted ripped light blue jeans. Then I grab the black leather cami with crisscross cutouts that Lizzy bought for me and grab a long red flannel shirt. Putting everything on I look at myself in my full body mirror this looks great I smile. Now, where are those black booties aha found them I slip them on I walk towards my vanity I start curling my long black hair it takes a while making me glad I ended up waking up early. A bit of gloss and done *knock knock* "it's open" matt pokes his head into my room "breakfast is ready" I smile at him "ok I'll be right down" grabbing my backpack I head downstairs. We quickly finish breakfast and head towards the garage shit I almost forgot we have to share "I'm driving" Matt takes the keys from my hand "fine" I pout and open the garage matt sits on the bike and I take a seat behind him. "Hold on tight" I wrap my arms around his waist feeling his muscles contract "let's go or we're going to be late" once we put on our helmets he starts the bike on we head towards school.

Pulling into the parking lot everyone is staring our way not many people drive motorcycles to school especially not two people on the same one. Once Matt turns the engine off I easily get off the back. I remove my helmet and shake my head trying to revive my hair from being couped up. I notice the guys looking my way the girls throwing daggers at me at seeing Matts handsome face. We walk through the doors I hear whisper around me "who are they" a girl whispers to her friend "I don't know but that guy is pretty hot". A group of boys looks my way "damn she's super hot" I see a familiar face walking towards me "Ali" she gives me a hug "no way is that really Alice Parker....she looks so different!" another boy in the group points out. I smile at my friend I see Ryan right behind her "hi Lizzy.....Hey, Ryan nice seeing you again" I see shock written all over his face Lizzy elbows him "ouch... yea it's nice seeing you again. But damn Ali you've really have changed" wrapping an arm around Lizzy's shoulder he smiles at me and then looks up behind me "this is Matt he's a good friend of mine he'll being going to school with us" Matt smiles "nice to meet you Ryan" they shake hands. Suddenly the bell rings "I guess we should be heading to class bye guys see you at lunch" I grab Matt's hand pulling him to our first period.

I'm glad Matt and I have pretty much every class together. Every class we walk into I feel every guy's lingering gaze on me. Having Matt beside me stops them from approaching, thankfully. I have yet to see Jake around I don't know how our meeting will go I'm nervous. Looking out the window I see the clouds roll by "Ali the bell rang....third periods over" I turn towards Matt "oh sorry I didn't hear it" he smirks "I noticed" getting out of my seat I grab matt by the arm and drag him towards the Cafeteria. Waving her hand to get my attention I see Lizzy sitting beside Ryan. We walk over sitting in front of them I steal a bite from her sandwich "damn it Ali get your own damn food" she glares at me I just laugh "I'll be back I'm going to grab us something to eat before Ali steals Lizzy's food. You want some fruit right?" chuckling Matt stands up "yea please" I smile at him and he walks to the lunch line. "So he's nice" Lizzy gives me a mischievous smile "it's not like that Lizzy" I pout. I've missed my friend so much she's always so energetic I was listening to one of her stories when our conversation was cut short a shiver ran down my spine at hearing that voice, that voice I know all too well "Ali......is that really you?"
