6 - Reunion

Taehyung wasn't far. With every eager step Jungkook felt a heavy weight being lifted off his chest a bit by bit. He could almost smell him, smell that familiar sweet scent that had drown all his senses when he had his rut-

Fuck, I have to apologize. Jungkook hadn't exactly planned what to say to Taehyung once he'd find him. For one, he'd have to say sorry, he would beg for his mercy on his knees if he had to, he had hurt him and it had been so wrong and he didn't understand why Taehyung had even agreed in the first place...

/Jungkook, are you okay? We're close, aren't we?/ Bambam linked. After being separated during the storm the older had taken it upon himself to teach Jungkook how to communicate while in wolf form. Being a fast learner, the boy had mastered it the same day.

/Yes, we should get to him any minute now./ Not long after those words they came by a river. Jungkook followed it to where he now got a distinct smell of Taehyung. There was something off with his scent and even though the bond seemed to rejoice at their short distance, he could feel that there was still something very, very wrong.

Then he saw him. Taehyung was lying down on the grass by the river. The relief of finding the boy turned into anxiety and panic as he got closer. Taehyung wasn't taking a harmless nap or enjoying the sun, he was writhing in pain. One howl and Jungkook transformed, running rest of the way with two legs instead of four.

"Taehyung!"

He was already kneeling down besides the older when the latter looked back at him. It took one confused second for Jungkook to realize his hair had changed colour. Instead of dark brown his hair were now blonde. And his eyes, they were flashing gold and the bond sent painful shock waves through Jungkook. Still, he barely registered the pain in his worry for the other.

"What's going on?"

"J-Jung-kook..." Taehyung barely got the name out. His voice was hoarse and seemed like it had been unused for days. The gold in his eyes seemed to burn brighter.

Before Jungkook could even blink, Taehyung had bitten into his neck. Confused and out of his mind, he didn't get was was happening until he heard Bambam speak behind them.

"Oh god... What have they done to him..."

In that moment Jungkook noticed that Taehyung was drinking his blood. And to that he could only come up with one explanation, one that would also explain the obvious changes in his appearance. He should have known.

Taehyung had become a vampire. Vampire that was currently sucking the life out of him, devouring him like he had been starving for months. Jungkook was starting to get dizzy from losing too much blood in one setting.

"S-stop", he tried, weakly pushing the other away.

Bambam was about to step in but before he could, Taehyung stopped. He retracted his fangs and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He looked dazed and so much calmer than before the ordeal.

"Are you okay?" Bambam asked Jungkook as he sat down next to him.

"I think so, just a bit dizzy."

Jungkook didn't avert his gaze from Taehyung for even a fraction of second. He didn't know what to think. The turn of events was too shocking for him, causing him to forget everything he thought he was going to say to the boy.

Taehyung kept looking down at his own hands, clearly lost in his own world at the moment. Jungkook just stared at him until he came to, raising his head as he returned to reality. That reality was Jeon Jungkook, looking at him straight in his eyes. Taehyung looked like he got an electric shock and he backed down until the protest shown in the werewolf's eyes made him halt.

"W-why are you here? How did you find me I'm-"

"The bond. I marked you back then and found you with the half-bond", Jungkook explained, speaking gently in hopes of calming the other.

"But why? Why did you come here?!"

The desperation in both his eyes and voice made Jungkook restless. He tried to get closer to him but was stopped by the shout from a frantic vampire.

"Don't lo-look at me, go away! I don't want you to see me like this!"

Jungkook shivered. His heart broke from the pain those words were loaded with. Now he knew why he had been in constant pain ever since marking the older.

"But I came here to see you. I wanted to make sure you're okay and it appears you're not. Let me help, Taehyung. I'm not scared of you, if that makes you feel better."

"Aren't you...disgusted with me?" Taehyung asked, hiding his face behind his hands. It was so uncharacteristic of him that it left a bad taste in Jungkook's mouth.

"No, you'd never disgust me. And c'mon, I'm a werewolf now! We're not that different, are we?"

He turned to send a 'look' towards Bambam in case he'd argue with what he just said. Then he focused on Taehyung again, just in time to see him nod slightly.

"You have a point... I'm sorry for freaking out so much, I just... hate being like this."

"What happened? Why did you turn into a vampire?" Bambam asked the burning question too soon in Jungkook's opinion.

Taehyung looked so uncomfortable and vulnerable. Jungkook wanted to give him a hug but that might be too much. He'd work on that, though.

"Y-yoongi he- he just", Taehyung paused to throw up. The two wolves held back their own urge to vomit as they saw the blood trickling out of the vampire's mouth. They waited for Taehyung to wash his mouth with water from the river before saying anything.

"Who's Yoongi?" Jungkook asked when Taehyung looked to be in somewhat better condition.

"The crown prince."

A/N: This marks the end of 'Quest to find Taehyung arc'! (yes I call it that in my head) Now we can finally get some taekook!

I made Jungkook's eyes red earlier so I decided to go with gold for Taehyung although it's usually the opposite for vampires and werewolves oops
