After it had gotten a bit too warm in the shelter, Jungkook had turned back to his human form, still cuddling with Taehyung. Soft murmurs were being exchanged between the two, both feeling too comfortable to get up.

"Hmm... I like it."

"Like what?"

"You calling me Tae."

"It's better than Kim, isn't it?" Jungkook giggled.

"Mm. There are too many Kims."

"Yet only one Tae?"

"Shut up."

Jungkook couldn't help laughing. This was nice. He might never have felt so relaxed and just plainly...happy.

"Actually, never mind. I wanted to ask you something", Taehyung said more seriously.

"What is it?"

"Since when did you like me? Were you serious back when you confessed at that party?"

"Ah... this is awkward. But yes, I was serious. I saw you right when I moved to my new house. I thought you were handsome and when I saw you go to the same school, I asked people who you were. You in turn never took notice of me, always in your own world. Hell, you didn't even notice your best friend crushing on you! Even I saw him making heart eyes to you", Jungkook complained with a pout.

"Oh god..."

"I wanted to get your attention so I sat on your seat in the cafeteria. You gotta admit it worked, although the attention I got was a bit different from what I initially wanted."

Jungkook chuckled and Taehyung felt his cheeks warm with the embarrassment.

"You could have tried hitting on me from the start."

"No way. I saw you reject more people in two days than I thought was possible for a normal human being. It was like you were some idol."

"Ugh. I wish I never asked. Beginning of a new school year is always hell. But I truly am sorry for rejecting you even though I had a crush on you too."

"Whoa. Really?"

Jungkook's eyes were possible wider than they'd ever been. Now this was new information.

"Really. I just wasn't ready to admit it, not to myself or anyone else. I even went and fucked with Bogum... Why do I have to be so stupid?"

Jungkook was wiping away the tears Taehyung hadn't even noticed cascading his cheeks. The younger then held his head with both hands and pressed a kiss on his forehead.

"And I thought you absolutely detested me, sleeping with him right after I had confessed. Especially when I knew you didn't even like him. It felt like you were just rubbing salt on the wound."

"That is... I had assumed you were joking around and just wanted to forget about you... I must be the biggest idiot on this planet."

"Maybe so, but we're here now. What's past is past. Now give me a kiss and I'll promise we're square."

Taehyung didn't have to think twice, immediately pressing their lips together for the first but definitely not the last kiss of the day.

"So, what are we doing now that we found him?" Bambam asked Jungkook. Taehyung was currently washing up in the river. 

"I'm not sure. I only know that I don't want him to get involved in the war..."
