Fleurie ~ Hurts Like Hell
*
Jungkook's heart weighted heavy in his chest as he trailed behind Bambam. The latter had to check on him often to make sure he wasn't falling behind. He wanted to get back as fast as possible but he couldn't force Jungkook to go any faster. What worried him the most wasn't the slow pace but the lack of light in the other wolf's eyes. They seemed lifeless and so unlike of Jungkook who had such sparkly eyes you'd think nothing could take that sparkle away.
But Jungkook had lost a vital part of himself. That part had two different names. The first one was the name of the feeling everyone is hoping to find in their lives, the feeling of finding the piece you didn't even realize was missing, the feeling of being home whenever you're with them. The second name was the name of the person whom Jungkook gave his very heart to.
Would he ever see him again? Would he ever get to tell him that he loved him too?

They were taking a rest by a small lake. Bambam had caught them food but Jungkook was refusing to eat, saying that the very sight of the meat disgusted him. It reminded him of the scene just before the illusion of the paradise had broken. It reminded him of how he had forced Taehyung to eat when he clearly didn't want to.
In the end Bambam had to give up on getting him to eat, promising himself to try again tomorrow. They lied down next to each other in order to sleep. They were both tired and even the thoughts bothering each of them couldn't keep them awake for long.
...
Jungkook was dreaming. The lake was right before him, the area covered in thick mist. He could hear singing coming from the lake. He couldn't see who was singing, but the beautiful voice made his heart ache. He knew that voice, it was one that he loved listening to.
"Come to me my dear,
Let's leave the past behind.
I don't trust the silver and gold,
Only the light in your eyes."
The song was beautiful, enchanting. Jungkook was slowly walking closer, noticing yet not caring that he was now in his human form. He stepped into the water, still searching for the singer.
"Hold my hand again,
And I will wash away your pain.
The sorrows you carry within,
Will turn into smiles tonight."
The water was now reaching up to his waist. He was frantically looking left and right, still not catching sight of the boy he was so desperately looking for.
"Tell me that you love me,
And I will say it thousand times over,
Until you can never forget,
The love we shared in this moment."
Only his head was left above water when he realized the voice was coming behind him. When he turned around, he saw him. He looked unreal, glowing like an angel.
"Let's seal the promise with a kiss,
Promise to be only ours.
You'll belong to me for eternity,
And I as well will be yours."
Jungkook raised his hand from the water, touching the soft skin of his cheek. It was cold but the boy paid it no mind as he closed the distance and leaned into a kiss.
Just before their lips were about to meet, he heard someone shout his name. Before he could think enough to tell who it was, he was pulled underneath the water. He fought at first, recognizing that he'd drown if he couldn't get away from the hands pulling him under.
Stop struggling. It's just a dream.
"Jungkook!"
There was another pair of hands grabbing onto him.
Let go. I'm going with Taehyung.
"Jungkook, snap out of it! It's not who you think it is!"
It wasn't a dream. Jungkook's eyes flew open but it was too dark to see in the water. With the help of Bambam, he managed to get back to the surface.
As he was taking in the much needed air, he saw a glimpse of the strange creature disappearing in the depths. The creature he had mistaken as the person he wanted to see the most.
"What the hell happened?" Jungkook was shivering and not only from the cold.
"It's a siren. Bad choice of a resting place I made. Let's get out of the water, we need to dry you off or you'll catch a cold."

They made their way ashore and Bambam built a campfire for them. Even if they shifted, their fur would still be wet.
"A siren", Jungkook mumbled. "I thought I was having a dream."
"That's how the spell works. I think I have a good idea of what you saw."
"Hm. What did you see?"
"Just the siren herself. It didn't work on me when I already knew the trick."
Jungkook thought for a while, staring at the flames and the sparkles dancing in the dark.
"Do you think she's lonely?"
"The siren?"
"Yeah. Maybe she's luring people because she doesn't want to be alone", Jungkook mused, hugging his legs to his chest.
"You think too greatly of the world after all you've been through", Bambam smiled.
Jungkook had a small smile adorning his own face as well but it didn't quite reach his eyes. Bambam's eyes in turn opened wide at Jungkook's next words.
"The world may have given up on me, but I haven't given up on the world yet."
Damn Jungkook. You're really something else, aren't you?
"Silly. How can you say the world has given up on you when I'm right here? I haven't given up on you, that's for sure", Bambam said, throwing one arm over Jungkook's shoulder.
"Thanks, Bam. I'm really happy that you're here."
"And I'd be happy if you ate something. Unless you are giving up on the world", Bambam noted, rising his brow.
"Mm, got me. I'll try to eat some, okay?"
"Okay."
They ended up sleeping few hours too late into the next day but Jungkook made up for it by actually running instead of dragging his body along. Bambam wasn't sure how he got out of his slump but it seemed like most of Jungkook's dark thoughts had been left in the lake, washed away by the cold water.

A/N: Not @ me coming up with a whole song just for my fanfic :') As much as I love angst, I don't want to write super depressed Jungkook for too many chapters in a row.
