Em's P.O.V.
As the moonlight spilled through the window, casting eerie shadows upon the walls, Jackson, Edward, Miller, and Miller's brother still stood still as statues at the entrance of the room. Their expressions a mix of curiosity and pity, as if they were spectators at a gripping film.
"Why did she lose it like that?" Edward inquired hesitantly, his gaze fixed on me, a hint of bewilderment in his voice.
My eyes remained glued to Sophia, knowing she would never forgive me if I diverted my attention. I had to shield her from the truth, to protect her horrors from our captors.
"Wouldn't you freak out if you woke up in a stranger's bed?" I snapped dumbfounded by the question, silencing him instantly.
"Here's a more pressing question: What do you want with me and Sophia? Why have you taken us?" I demanded, my voice steady, though my heart raced.
The four exchanged glances, their eyes dancing with unspoken thoughts, a silent dialogue unfolding between them.
"Simple. We wanted you two, so we took you," Jackson replied nonchalantly, as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.
I scoffed, mimicking his tone, "You wanted us, so you took us?"
"Do you realize how absurd that sounds? You can't just kidnap people!" My irritation bubbled to the surface, fueled by his flippant attitude.
With a heavy sigh, I implored, "Please, just let us go. We won't breathe a word of this to anyone." I was desperate to keep Sophia from spiraling further into fear.
"No can do. You and her are staying right here," came his cold reply.
"No!" I hissed, my voice a fierce whisper, careful not to disturb Sophia's fragile peace.
Gently, I laid her on the floor, rising to stand protectively in front of her. "Did you not just witness this?" I gestured toward my best friend, now vulnerable on the ground. "She's having a panic attack because she's was alone with you," I pointed accusingly at Edward.
"Oh... does she know those often?" Edward asked, a flicker of genuine concern crossing his face.
"No because she doesn't usually wake up in a bed with a stranger after being kidnapped" I said getting frustrated at his continuously stupidity.
Jackson looked at me with untrusting eyes "No. Your not telling us the whole truth"
"That is none of your business" I said taking a step towards him.
"Yes that is" he retorted closing the space in between us with long strides.
"Look here mister" I said poking his rock hard chest "when Sophia wakes up you will let us go. Or so help me, I will hurt you so bad you'll wish you were DEAD" I spat out. The boys were looking at me like I was crazy.
But what really got my attention was Jackson's eyes. they weren't sky-blue emeralds now they are black.
He grabbed my shoulders roughly and growled out "I like to see you try"
I took that as a challenge and grabbed his hands that were currently on my shoulders and yanked him towards me but then at the last second I took a step back and stuck my leg out so he would trip, landing face forward on the floor.
He groaned before getting up. Somehow he is eyes got even darker and like I can see myself in them.
he slowly rose form the ground making his way to me, then with what seemed like inhuman speed and strength he slammed me to the wall cracking hit with my head.
I winced in pain.
"DO NOT SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT, AND DO NOT EVER TRY THAT AGAIN... DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" Jackson yelled at me with anger and command.
I don't know what He's thinking because I never ever back down from a fight.
I tried to push him away from me but he didn't movie an inch. It's like he was glued there. Feeling stuck made me bubble over, the anger in me began bubbling up as the more trapped I felt.
"I don't know who you think you are, but I won't let anyone talk to me like that. I'm not your subordinate. Even if you don't let me and Sophia go, we will never stop fighting you. I will never allow you or anyone to hurt me—or especially Sophia. Do you understand me?"
