Anne felt a bright light on her eyelids. She rolled herself on the other side with an unpleasant groan. She was just lying in her bed for a while when some parts of yesterday's afternoon flashed through her mind, and she instantly shot into sit.

She wasn't sure what was just a dream and which of the memories she was remembering were real.

She could remember a burning nose and eyes, the pressure of water, a storm, a wound on an arm, and... forehead?

She lifted her hand up to her forehead and immediately felt sharpened pain. Her body still felt weak.

She looked around and found herself in her comfy room, safe. Her head hurt and she had this itchiness in her throat. She started connecting the memories together until she was able to imagine a proper picture of yesterday's circumstances. She remembered most of it but was still pretty confused. Then she realized who pulled her out of the water.

She flinched, as she remembered cleaning the sleeping boy's wound and then falling asleep too.

Gilbert! Is he okay?!

...was the first thought that came to her mind.

Before she could continue to wander in her memories and stress out about the boy, the door creaked.

,,Oh, you're awake! Thank God!" a woman's voice said.

It was Marilla coming into her room.

,,Um... Yeah... um- w-what happened...?" Anne asked.

,,Well, your afternoon at the beach didn't really go as you planned," Marilla simply announced.

,,I remember a swimming competition with Gilbert and then being hit by a wave and then he pulled me out of the water and i cleaned his wound. Uh- h-how is he? Is he okay?"  Anne demanded, a worried expression shadowing her pale freckled face.

,,Gilbert is fine, but he's really been through a rough time saving you according to your classmates..."

,,I know and i am beginning to feel terrible about it. Oh, how exhausted he must have been? Pulling a person out of the stormy ocean in giant waves, possibility that lighting might come... How long have i been sleeping?"

,,Probably for sixteen hours?" Marilla guessed. ,,From yesterday's afternoon till now, it's nine in the morning."

,,And how did i get here? I remember falling asleep at the beach, that's a long distance..." Anne thought.

,,I've been told by your friends, that they carried you and Gilbert all the way to your houses. Those people are, indeed, amazing friends..." Marilla smiled at the girl. ,,Now come for breakfast if you're feeling better," she said and left the room.

The scholars took turns in carrying the two teenagers.

The two boys took turns in carrying Gilbert with one more girl on the other side, then in carrying Anne in their arms, and the girls took turns in carrying the other stuff that they had on the beach. Marilla was right, it was really kind of them.

Anne slowly got ready and went to the kitchen.

,,Anne, how are you feeling?" she heard Matthew saying, worriedly.
