Marilla was just cleaning in the kitchen when Diana ran back downstairs. It was already getting dark outside. She didn't want to interrupt the two girls when she clearly heard how loud they are laughing. She let Diana in for the first time in a week.

,,Thank you for letting me in, Miss Cuthbert, but i must be on my way!" the girl shouted, grabbing and putting on her coat.

,,Of course, and give my greetings to your parents!"

,,I will, goodbye! Oh- hello Gilbert," Marilla just heard and the girl was gone.

Before she even stood up from the floor, she heard another knock and a kind voice.

,,Hello?" a boy's voice said.

Marilla quickly stood up and went to the door.

,,Why hello Gilbert! How are you?" the woman smiled. She was assuming why was he here, that was quite obvious. She wasn't sure if she could fulfill his wish though.

,,I am quite well, thank you... I-i was wondering if i may see Anne? She's had an exciting adventure on the roof a while ago," he laughed and his expression softened.

,,I believe she has," Marilla joined him.

,,How is she?" he asked, trying to hide his worries, but Marilla noticed, of course.

,,I would like to let you in so she can tell you herself, but unfortunately, she has a flu and i don't want you catching it as well, so i cannot let you to her," Marilla gave the boy a soft apologizing look. He just smiled.

,,Just tell her i came visit."

,,I certainly will," Marilla smiled too. ,,And you give my greetings to Sebastian and Mary."

,,Of course, goodbye, Mrs. Cuthbert," Gilbert charmingly nodded, turned around, and started walking off when Marilla gave him her last smile.

But just as he heard the door closed, he turned around and a sly expression appeared on his face, curving his lips into a smile.

Anne was just reading the book Aunt Josephine gave her, all covered in her sheets, imagining herself as the heroine of it.

Suddenly she heard a creak outside. That was normal, since the wind was still strong, so she assumed it was just dear Snow Queen.

What she didn't know was, that the wind didn't cause the creak. A boy did. And not just any boy.

Gilbert Blythe was climbing up the tree, firmly decided to knock on the girl's window and spend some time with her after quite a while.

He hung onto the biggest branch and crept himself up on the tree.

He stood on the top of the big branch. Anne's window was down, but her curtains weren't closed, so he was able to see her.

She was sitting on her bed, writing something down. She was biting her lower lip, probably fully focused on putting in the perfect words, because while she was reading, an idea for her own story started forming in her head.
