Hearing the sonic boom of the Millennium Falcon entering the atmosphere, Angel decides to prepare for the worst-case scenario and hide in the cave, Luke decides to stand on the cliff overseeing the ocean. Rey walks up to Luke and holds out the lightsaber. Angel sensing everything is all right, leaves the cave. Luke turns around and reaches out his hand to take the lightsaber when he hears whispers coming from the tree but can't quite make out what it's saying. As Angel comes around the corner, he hears it too, but when he steps in some mud, Rey gets scared and draws her lightsaber and asks, "Who's there?" Angel, not concerned at all about Rey, he shows himself.
Rey then says, "I'm warning you, I'm a Jedi," despite being terrified. Angel feeling insulted says, "First of all, you barely even know about the force to be called a Jedi." Angel then turns towards Luke and asks, "What do they want?"
Rey looks confused and turns off her lightsaber, "Who? Who's talking? What's going on?"
Luke says, "I'll go see what they want."
The Whispers become clearer as Luke hears, "No, your son. We want to speak to your son."
Angel hears, "We need to speak to you!"
The tree begins to glow with a yellowish color, but it begins to fade to Luke, and Rey just see's the tree for what it is. Angel heads over to the tree and steps through the portal and Rey looks on and sees Angel disappear and asks Luke, "Where did he go?"
Luke replies, "To the Realm of the Whills."
Rey, "The what?"
Luke says, "Come here, I need to show you something."
They start to head to the tree, Luke begins to tell her a story:
"This is Je'daii, The Tree of the First Jedi. They called themselves the Je'daii, and the tree was their meeting place. In it contains the very first Jedi oaths, scrolls, and books written by the First Jedi." Rey is amazed. Luke picks up a book, "This is the Book of Wisdom. In it contains the Knowledge of Light, Dark, and Grey sides of the Force."
Rey asks, "Grey? I thought there was only Light and Dark."
Luke answers, "Grey is the balance between Light and Dark, and it's what my son is. He identifies as a Grey Jedi. The Whills have told me he is the future, the one to lead the Jedi and Sith out of this so called 'Darkness' and lead them into the new era, one filled with love, not hatred like we have now, and from the past, but rather a future filled with balance."
Rey questions, "Wasn't this Anakin guy supposed to bring balance or something? Isn't that what they called him?"
Luke, "Yes, Anakin was the Chosen One, the one to bring balance to the Force. When the Emperor and my father were defeated, I was the only Jedi left, but that had to mean one Sith would remain."
Rey, "Snoke?"
Luke, "Yes, Snoke, or whoever controls him, also remained. I was unaware for a long time of his existence. I eventually set aside being a Jedi for a while, the galaxy was happy, and
Rey, "What do you mean who controls him?"
Luke, "Angel can explain it better than I can."
Rey, "So what about the Grey Jedi and the Prophecy?"
Luke says, "Here," grabbing a book, "let me read you the Prophecy of the Whills;
'First comes the day
Then comes the night.
After the darkness
Shines through the light.
