- Same day as ch.7 -

3rd POV.

After school was out, Kit grabbed his bag and started walking home. It was pretty dark, it was nine PM, and Kit was kind of scared to walk home alone. He had gotten stuck cleaning up after a lab and couldn't leave till it was late at night.

He made it about halfway before two drunk women started following him. He would normally feel better seeing women at night over men, but they were very drunk and seemed to be looking for trouble. Kit pretended he hadn't seen them and kept walking...

That didn't work. They saw him and started following him. He didn't want to lead them back to his home, so he started turning down random streets and tried to lose them.

That still didn't work. They continued following him. Kit was starting to panic and pulled his phone out - clicking a random contact not even looking at who he chose.

"Hey, I need help. I'm near the college and the first gas-station. Please come pick me up," Kit said and started speed walking towards the gas-station hoping that would make the women back-off.

"Kit? What's wrong?" Ming picked up the phone and was instantly worried.

"There's two drunk-women following me and I'm really scared P'," Kit said and you could hear the tremble in his voice.

Kit was scared and anxious. He didn't know what these women wanted or what they were capable of. He just knew that he was, and that he should be, scared of them.
Kit made it inside the small gas-station and told the man working there what was going on. The worker saw the women approaching the store and told Kit to hide behind the counter. Kit went under and was able to hide under the cash-drawer where the worker pulled a curtain closed across the opening. Fully hiding the small boy.

"Where boy?" One of the women slurred as she came up to the worker asking for Kit.

"He ran into the bathroom. Probably ran out the out-door," The worker said.

Both women groaned and went to the restroom and out the out-door and continued their 'search' for Kit.

Kit breathed a sigh of relief. He was still on the phone with Ming and let him know they were gone and that he didn't need to be picked up any more.

"No. I'm picking you up and staying with you tonight. I don't want to risk you getting hurt or them finding you again Kit," Ming said and let Kit know he was about ten minutes away and to stay where he was.

Kit came out from his hiding spot, but sat on the floor behind the counter until Ming arrived.

"I'm Knock, are you alright?" Knock asked and sat beside Kit - checking him for any injuries.

"I'm Kit, I'm ok... Just scared," Kit said. Ming was still on the phone just in case.

"Brother?" Knock asked and looked at Kit's phone.

"Friend," Kit said. Knock nodded and stood up hearing the door of the shop open.

"Hey babe, ready to close?" A man asked coming up to Knock. Knock smiled and nodded before motioning for Kit to stand up.

"Just waiting for his friend to get here, then we can leave," Knock said and the taller man nodded.

"Kit, this is Korn - my boyfriend. Korn this is Kit," Knock introduced the two.

The three talked for a few minutes before Ming arrived and came in to get Kit. Kit ran to the older and hugged him tightly - nearly crying. He was finally able to let his emotions out. He felt safe enough with Ming to show him his true feelings.

"Let's get you home Kitty," Ming said and carried Kit - thanking Knock and promising Korn they'd hang out soon. (The three have been friends foe years). Ming carried Kit to his car and set him in the passenger seat before driving towards his own dorm.

"I live the other way," Kit said.

"I know, I saw those women you were talking about walking in that direction. I don't want to risk anything happening to you," Ming said.

"So I'm staying at your place tonight?" Kit asked.

"Yeah," Ming smiled.

"I don't have clothes..." Kit said.

"You can use mine, I'll wash your clothes for class tomorrow," Ming said and held Kit's hand as he pulled into his parking spot.

"You're amazing," Kit mumbled - not meaning to say it out loud but wanting Ming to hear it anyway.

Ming just smiled and helped Kit out of the car before leading him to his dorm.

"I just moved here a couple days ago, so excuse the mess," Ming apologized and unlocked the door - letting Kit in first.
Kit looked around and was impressed with how nice it was.

"It's nice," Kit smiled and Ming was happy Kit liked it.

"Um, are you hungry?" Ming asked.

Kit shook his head and yawned.

"Just tired," Kit said.

Ming grabbed some clothes and handed them to Kit.

"Bathroom is right there, I'll be in my room, come up there when you're done," Ming said and pointed to the loft above the kitchen.

Kit nodded and went to change in the bathroom before heading up to Ming's room. Ming moved over, making space for Kit on the bed. Kit laid beside him and cuddled into the blankets - already feeling his anxiety and fears from earlier going away.

"You ok?" Ming asked and Kit nodded.

Ming turned the lights off and it was silent for an hour before Ming spoke.

"Can we cuddle?" Ming asked and looked at Kit with puppy-eyes.

Kit rolled over, laid on top of Ming, and kissed his cheek before falling asleep for the night.

That night was the best sleep either of them have gotten in years...
