Day 1 - Various Periods - Ezra Aurora

This was one of those days that I was convinced that my head was split into two different people, one of those, I don't comprehend. The unknown part of my head was just screaming to me, something is going to happen today, something is going to go wrong and you are going to be blamed for it.  Some people say they follow their gut, well, I sometimes think something is in my head that I cant control and that I don't know at all that does sometimes influence my decisions depending on the importance.

Even though of what the other entity was telling me, everything was normal (at least to the standards of a camp full of mostly teenagers who had "superpowers" at their disposals and close to none adult supervision). The oddities started just after breakfast. Lest set the scene.

The Hephaestus and Hermes cabins where setting something on fire, I didn't know if it was an Ares camper of the Ares Cabin but I brushed it aside as it seemed like a common occurrence nowadays.

The Poseidon cabin was in the canoe lake being watched (or stalked depending on how you looked at it) by both nymphs and Aphrodite campers, that just left me asking what did they do know? Then it came to me that last week, news got out that a Poseidon camper got together with an Iris camper and since then, the Aphrodite kids had been stalking them to find out who is the couple. I kind of felt sorry for them.

The Demeter cabin and some satyrs where in the strawberry fields while some Ares campers tried their hands at the climbing wall. I kind of felt sorry for them, not the Ares campers, but the rest of my cabin that would have to take care of them once they thought that they had been injured enough for one day which I found absurd but then again, there was not stopping them.

The Zeus and Dionysus cabins where in the stables  "cleaning" . If I knew anything, it was that the stables would still be full of horse poop by the end of the day if you put them in charge of cleaning them. As some of the lesser populated cabins (around 6 all together with 2 from Cabin 1 and 4 from Cabin 12) they hung out a lot.

The rest of the cabins which included the Nemesis, Hecate, Hebe, Tyche, Nike cabins were doing chores around camp while the Hypnos cabin was probably sleeping and the Hades cabin did inspection.

The rest of my cabin was playing Volleyball with the rest of the satyrs that weren't in the strawberry fields and a few Athena kids while the rest were back at their cabin doing Athena kid things like reading and more reading.

What was I doing? Nothing, just plucking out grass like a loser. The teams were even (14-14) so I couldn't play. Then, something caught my attention as I looked around. I saw something shimmering in the arena. It was reflecting  in the late morning sun but what reflective surface would be in the arena if no one had been there all day?

Im the curious type so I went to investigate as the rest of my cabin continued playing, still drenched in so much sweat, it seemed that they had just fallen into the canoe lake. It turned out that the thing that I saw was a sword just left in the arena. Why would it be there? Honestly, I had no idea. Did someone leave their sword? Probably not because nobody would leave their weapons unattended, not even the Hypnos cabin would and they were some of the laziest people that I knew.

What was the weird thing? The sword seemed to be made from imperial gold, nothing special about it, just your average imperial gold weapon you would find at Camp Jupiter. I had seen these types of blades before being used by roman campers when small groups came to visit camp for "special programs" and stuff that I couldn't remember. No visits had been going on from the past few weeks so, why would there be one there?

It looked cool and was decently balanced so I kept it. What? Finders keepers. Besides, it already seemed like a very reflective surface and that could come in handy.
