The Half-Blood Quintet ( A Percy Jackson Fanfic)

Chapter 9.

TIME SKIP

3rd person POV 

     -"I want to get to know you all, let's do 2 truths one lie!" Connor asked. 

     -"Fine, but I still don't trust you" Ezra told him, he put a hand on his chest, offended at the comment.

     -" Do you want a list? You tried to kill us during capture the flag, you are the Octavian of this group-" 

     -"Octavian? Really? Wait, I kind of see it" he said and all of the group laughed as Ezra took sandwiches out of the picnic basket and passed them around. 

     -" Ill go first, I was born in the US, I am 12 years old and I once wrestled a Mars camper and won" Everyone raised their hands at the final one but Aaron who knew Ezra since she arrived at camp raised his hand at the first one "Aaron you know me too well".

     -" You aren't American?" Kai asked as he swallowed a chunk of his Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.

     -" Nope, I am originally Cuban but I moved here when I was 4" she told them.

     -" Wait, how in the Hades did you beat a Mars camper at wrestling?" Marie asked.

     -" Its a funny story, Aaron and I were at Camp Jupiter and the skinniest Mars camper that I had ever seen came up to me and asked me to wrestle, I think it was part of a dare but in the end, I beat him" she told the group who gave various complaints before Marie decided to go next.

     -" I once got pep talked by Annabeth Chase, I am 11 and I have a dog named Lauren John" Marie told them. The group was split with half voting for her not being pep talked by Annabeth Chase and her having a dog.

     -" Its a strategy that I like to call plain sighted questions, I am 12, not 11. The point of this game is to think of the most drastic thing that have happened in your life and make them seem like a lie with a simple question being the lie that is hidden in plain sight meaning-" Marie tried to explain before being cut off.

     -" Yea yea J.A.R.V.I.S, you don't need to dive into the logistics of the game, we just want to have fun!" Connor responded and the group broke out laughing.

     -" We need to get to business" she said as she took he picnic basket.

Day 10 - Mid-day - Ezra Aurora

    -"Listen up" Marie said as she placed a few scrolls on the blanket " We all agreed that we needed to rest up for the past week and not use our abilities, but now its time. We need to train them and discover out true capabilities" She continued. There where 4 scrolls in total, each with the name of a different person on the team. I picked up mine. On the scroll was a list of weird words that I didn't understand. Marie seemed to understand my confusion and took the scroll out of my hands.

     -" You could have asked" I told her but she payed me no mind.

     -" Photokinesis" she read " Photokinesis is the mental and or physical ability to control light. To a greater extent, one could become invisible, concentrate light particles into lasers, and manipulate any part of the light spectrum" she said.

     -" Any part of the light spectrum? Including ultraviolet lights?" I asked.

     -" For you specifically, being a daughter of Apollo and all that, I assumed that your powers come strictly from sunlight" she said

      -" Yea, I talked to Apollo while Ezra was in the infirmary and he did confirm it so your theory is valid" Aaron told her.

     -" You talked with my dad and didn't tell me?" I told him. 

     -" Thats besides the point" Marie tells me " This right here is a checklist of the things that I suspect you might be able to do according to your abilities. The only thing you need to do is check the ones that you know you can do and we will see about the other ones when I schedule a training session tomorrow". She said as she cleared her throat to continue reading. 

     -" Illusions/hallucinations" she said.

     -" I can do that?" I asked. She checked a box in the scroll that I assumed said no.

     -"  Light shields/force field" she said and Aaron, Connor and I nodded simultaneously as she checked another box. 

    -" Blast of lights to impale or blind enemies" Marie said and Connor started laughing.

     -" Tell that to those Ares kids that are still blind a week later!" Marie checked another box the group chuckled.

     -"Teleportation" Marie said, that froze me. 

     -" WHAT" I said.

     -" She gets teleportation and I get to be a Flash ripoff? That isn't fair!" he said.

     -" You're more of a quicksilver knockoff" I said.

     -" Oh shut it Wanda" he said and I punched his shoulder and Marie checked another box.

     -" Creating a ball or shape of light to blast"she said as I nodded.

     -" Thats it pretty much" Marie said as she checked her list once again.

3rd person POV

     The group went off checking Marie's lists while learning more about each other. What they didn't know was that they were being watched. 

    Once the group dispersed and went their different ways to their different cabins, one of them stayed behind to talk to the person hidden in the bushes.

     -" These people are dangerous, get that rumor circling. The quicker it's a phenomenon, the quicker they leave camp and the quicker we can end them" the suspect said. 

     -" You already told me the prophecy. We know that we are the people that will set it in motion, right?" the spy told the suspect, the suspect nodded.

     -" If we get everyone to believe that they kidnapped Chiron, then they might do our work for us" the suspect said as he prepared to leave before being cut off.

     -" You are part of that group, the quintet that shall be blamed, you'll fall" the spy told the suspect, who grinned.

     -" At least I'll bring them with me" the suspect said before walking off.
