Chapter 19.

3rd person POV

     -" How on earth did you find this place?" Marie asked as the two stoop above a ruin of what seemed like a castle. Arches framed most of the windows and door frames while large stone pillars stood towering above everything else. How did this place look like when it was brand new? They would never know. 

     -" I saw it in a dream and somehow knew were it was" he said, Marie had had her suspicions about him before, but now she was really nervous. But then again, the prophecy said something about saving the forgotten kingdom but that included Connor, Marie started doubting the prophecy and her friend. 

     -" Is that a body?" Kai said as he pointed at the body of a kid seeming their age, he didn't seem hurt, but just tired like if he was sleeping on the ruins of a castle in the middle of nowhere, was that normal?

     -" Oh my gods, its Connor!" Marie said as she tried to shake him awake.

     -" I need to go call Ezra and Aaron, be right back!" he said as he took out a drachma out of his pocket and ran into the forest to find the pond that they had walked past earlier. Now this was really creeping her out. Why on earth would he need to call those two? She brushed it aside as Connor started waking up.

     -" Were am I? Marie?" he said as he regained consciousness.

     -" Connor, its me! I honestly think something is up with Kai because he brought me here and then you are here too and he is going to call Ezra and Aaron and-" 

     -" Slow down, are Ezra and Aaron fine?" he asked as his face filled with fear, had something happened to his friends while he was gone?

     -" No! They are fine, I am just trying to say that I think Kai is up to something" she said but Connor just smiled.

     -" We can discuss this later, just help me get up" he said.

     -" Ezra, I need you to teleport over here with Aaron, we found Connor and he needs medical attention!" he said

     -" Okay! Where are you guys?" she asked, as she got her med kit from her bag.

     -" About 10 miles from camp, come quick!" he said and with that the Iris call ended. Ezra hadn't asked how Kai knew she could teleport, Ezra didn't ask why he needed Aaron too, Ezra didn't ask why he could heal Connor himself, the only thing she knew was that her friends was in trouble, for her it wasn't time to ask questions. Everything was going just as he planned it...

     -" We found them, but they are surrounded by a barrier, we can't get through" Christopher told his father through their Iris message conversation.

    -" See what is happening, Ill send a group over" Frank said.

A few minutes later, Jason, Percy, Christopher and Angelina were gathered outside the barrier and they could see everything happening inside.

     -" Where is he? Where is Connor?" Ezra asked as she and Aaron arrived at the scene.

     -" He is right over there" he said as the three ran over the hill but once they arrived, they saw Connor, perfectly healthy standing right beside Marie.

     -" You said he was harmed!" she said as he cracked a smile.

     -" Well, we don't always tell the truth, do we?" he said as his eyes turned a golden color and his friends found themselves being surrounded by light cages around them. For Ezra, it didn't hurt when she put her hands on the bars but it did once she tried bending them, nothing. " You shouldn't try, those bars are made by someone more powerful than your father" he said and Ezra's eyes light up with fear.

     -" Hyperion" she said, everything was now making sense. The golden flash the first time she met Percy, Hyperion trying to posses her. The time time she gained strength from the sunrise, the voice in her head wasn't her father, rather Hyperion (she should have noticed it wasn't him because he didn't include his usual haiku in there if you know what I mean). 

     -" Oh, look who we have here!" he said as four more figures appeared, also surrounded by light cages. The group knew them too well, Jason, Percy, Christopher and Angelina.

     -" What are you guys doing here?" Aaron asked as he tried holding the bars of the cage but the only result that came out of it was more pain from the burns in his arms.

     -" If it isn't obvious, they were trying to kill you" he said. 

     -" You were the one who killed my son" Jason told Kai but he laughed, his laugh more maniacal than usual.

     -" No, that wasn't in the plan at all, that was all Connor's doing" said as an evil smile came to his face " I can feel the anger in you Jason Grace, the suffering you have gone through over your son, I'll give you a chance to kill him. It's a win win! I get entertainment and you get revenge, what do you say son of Jupiter?" He said as Jason stared at Connor. Connor looked Kai with fear and desperation, he didn't want to die, there was so much he hadn't done.

     -" Jason, listen to me, this might be a trap, just ple-"

     -" Percy shut up! I get to avenge my son and I swore on the Styx that I would kill who did this, not just for me, but for Piper, so I take your offer" he said, Percy had no words as Jason, one of his closest friends cage disappeared around him soon after Connor's.

     -" Connor run!" Marie screamed as she saw her friend having the chance of leaving.

     -" No" he said as he stared at Marie, they at Jason " I deserve this" he said and before the lightning fell down on him.

Kai was the traitor all along, but why?

Also, I probably will be doing a sequel for this but I will give more details at the end of the book.
