The Tears in the Walls
»»————- ★ ————-««
Cory had been through some scary things, but this… this was a whole new level of terrifying.
Friendship.
For Cory, it began with just Heidi hanging out with him and trying to coerce him to speak… which led to many other Hufflepuffs surrounding them asking the anxious boy questions about America and his life there.
He couldn't handle it. He was so used to being alone that when people attempted to show him kindness, his suspicions arose and he did the only thing he knew how to do.
He ran.
He noticed a break in the crowd.
And ran.
Ignoring the group's shouts of protest, Heidi's being the loudest, he ran and ran until he was sure none of them had followed him.
Breathing heavily, Cory spotted a little enclosed crevice in the wall and slid inside.
He could feel his heart pounding in his chest and it's vibrations traveled through his body from the top of his head to the tips of his toes.
His breathing was getting worse.
He was hyperventilating.
He couldn't breath.
What's going on? Help! Help! HELP!
He tried to call for help, but the only noise that escaped his lips were ragged breaths and small wheezes. He could feel his panic rising even more. He began seeing black dotting his vision.
What is this? What's going to happen to him!?
Feeling something hit his leg, he was somewhat brought back to reality. He felt hands grabbing him and pulling him out of the alcove and onto the cold, stone floor. Icy hands made their way to Cory's face forcing him to make eye-contact, but the panicking boy still couldn't focus.
Cory could hear the sound of another voice which made him try to focus his darkening gaze on the person holding him. He strained his ears to hear the words they said, but he could only make out some of them. With his focus going to the person's voice, there was one thing that Cory definitely heard.
