September 1st. The day Cory was dreading.

Don't get him wrong, he was glad to be going to a new school, ecstatic even, not that he would show it, but he was also terrified that it would be just like his old school. Would he be friendless and the target of his teacher's wrath? Well… not all of his teachers. His uncle surely wouldn't target him… right?

The shrill cry of the train whistle rang through Platform 9 3/4 as students had their teary departures from their loved ones. Remus had already boarded the train while Cory stood ensnared in his self-doubt and overwhelming loop of bad memories. He had to rush to get in and get a, preferably empty, compartment.

He climbed aboard and carefully avoided making eye-contact with anyone who passed. That most likely wasn't the best idea as he collided with someone. They both would have ended up in a clumsy heap on the floor if the other person hadn't hastily gripped the wall and Cory's arm.

"Sorry 'bout that, must not have been watching where I was going," the unidentified male said.

Cory risked a glance up and took a sharp intake of air. The boy in front of him easily towered over him and that wasn't the only surprising thing about the giant. He had flaming red hair that could rival the shade of Cory's face when his mom would throw a plus four at him. That thought slightly calmed him, but caused a momentary sadness to overtake his embarrassment, so he hastily gave the redhead a nod before side-stepping around him and practically running away. Cory could hear the redhead calling after him, but he couldn't find it within him to stop.

After walking across the train and looking through the compartment windows, he was unable to spy any empty, or slightly empty, compartments. He was about to just plop down on the ground in defeat when the door behind him opened and a pair of arms grabbed him and pulled him in.

Cory began to fight back when a slightly familiar voice came from behind him. "Hey, it's okay, it's just me, the lad you ran into earlier!" But that didn't calm him in the slightest. Was he going to get beat up? He hasn't even gotten to the castle yet!

It was only when he was turned around and faced with not one of the boys, but two of the flamboyant haired boys, that he stopped and just looked at them with wide-eyes.

Noticing his expression, the one holding his arms let go and they both began to explain. "Yeah, there's two of us-"

   "My name's George Weasley-"
