Weeks had passed since the start of school and Cory had begun to get used to his friends and teachers. One teacher though -the conniving bastard- refused to show even an ounce of kindness, but Cory disregarded the man and focused on not allowing his potions to combust like a third year’s. A boy named Seamus Finnigan. His name tended to circulate around the classroom as an example of what not to do.

Cory also began to avoid Fred, but since the redhead took every chance he could to sit with Cory, it was very hard. So, Cory resorted to ignoring the taller boy. He really didn’t want to be rude… he just didn’t want to feel what he did when the boy was around him, but Fred couldn’t seem to take a hint. It was quite troubling, really. The ginger would try to get Cory’s attention to no avail. Cory didn’t understand why the other boy was so insistent on getting his attention, but he wasn’t going to give in.

He had also gained a partner in crime that came in the form of a very mischievous poltergeist. His name is Peeves. And how did Cory do this? Well, he may or may not have been caught by the poltergeist as he was carrying a large box of fireworks in the direction of Snape's office. Just as Peeves was going to yell, Cory silenced him by telling him his plan. Peeves stopped, but gave one condition. That he could join. And, Cory may or may not have also enlisted the help of Kipo to unlock the charmed lock. And he also may or may not have left a dungbomb in Snape’s desk that was rigged to go off when the drawer was opened. But, Cory had an alibi. Cedric, bless his soul, would tell anyone who asked about Cory’s wearabouts that the blond was in his room reading during the incident.

Others that he had gotten close to include Yornpy, the house elf from the kitchen, because Cory continued to make nightly trips to go and visit her. She was one of his best friends, mainly because she supplied him with food and lighthearted humor which never failed to put a smile on his face. He had also found the identity of the girl who helped him on the first night he was there. He had traveled to the alcove every night to enjoy the sweet treats from Yornpy, and one night, he heard a melody being hummed that seemed to be getting closer causing Cory to fold into himself to avoid getting caught. He also didn’t have to worry about crushing Kipo as the bowtruckle would always be in a deep sleep on Cory’s pillow by the time he would leave to go to the kitchen. The gentle humming came to a stop along with the light footsteps. Cory risked a glance up and was surprised to see a girl who looked to be around the age of twelve standing in front of him. The girl had a very peaceful smile on her face that calmed Cory’s nerves. The girl sat down and introduced herself as Luna Lovegood. And from then on was history.
