[ KOOK'S BET ]

I stepped into the chilly air of the grocery store, needing to pick up some things before I headed home. I couldn't stop thinking about the bet I had drunkenly agreed to last night.

I wasn't sure how I was going to keep up with it or even succeed when I don't talk to them. It might give it away honestly, a Kook out of no where talking to a Pogue.

"I'm home" I called out as I walked through the foyer, my mom stood by the stove, making lunch I presume. "hi honey? where were you all night" "with Sarah at hers" I shrugged, "went to the beach, then spent the night" My mom nodded her head as she continued searching through the spice cabinet.

I passed by my older sister's room. "How long did it take them to notice I was gone?" I asked, walking into her room. "all night, they questioned it this morning" She spoke, typing away at her laptop, "they seemed to be very invested in a business thing with Ward" she said and I didn't bother to reply.

My parents were business partners with Ward and Rose. That's why our family was so close with them, plus the Cameron's old nanny that watched the Cameron children had also watched me and Cara.

"Oh look he's cute, go get em tiger" Sarah lightly shoved me towards the keg stand. My palms began to sweat as I approached him, flashing a fake smile and blurting out a "hi" as I cut everyone else getting a drink. He replied back with a hi and poured me a cup of whatever this was. I made small talk with him, finding out his name was JJ and he was here with his friends. "You're here alone?" he said, leaning against the keg stand, "oh yeah, ditched my friends tonight" I laughed, pulling my hair behind my ear.

We continued to talk for a few more minutes, nothing really interesting. I did end up giving him my number, "if you ever wanna hang" I flirted, his eyes went wide for a quick second..not expecting it? I suppose.

"You did good Lev" Topper laughed as he walked up to Rafe and I. "What you mean?" I said, "the pogue..I heard him talking to his friends about you- and I quote- "dude she's fine, I don't know why she wants to slum it with me but shit I might just take her up on the offer to hang out with her", you for sure got him hooked" he laughed, ruffling my blonde hair, I shoved his hands away, giving a fake smile.

I knew karma was gonna bite me in the ass for this one.
