The hot summer wind blew strongly that afternoon as Yibo finished his shift and sat down next to Zhan. "Well, saved any lives today?" Asked Zhan as he put his book aside and sat up.

"No, it was a quiet day. Just a few warnings to children and teenagers every now and then. How's your book?"

"Not as exciting as I thought. But that can still come."

"You love to read, don't you? You had your nose in that book the whole time, and you never even looked at me." Yibo complained.

"I've always been like this. Besides, how do you know I wasn't even looking at the Watchtower?"

"Like I said, I'm keeping my eyes on you."

"But not all the time, you have to focus on the bathers, too. After all, that's your job."

"Sure, Bunny, but that doesn't mean I'm letting you out of my sight. After all, I have to make sure no one else comes near you."

"If it were that simple, I wouldn't be single, would I?"

"Maybe it just needed the right one. And I have to make sure that you realize that I'm the one and only one for you."

"The only one? I see. You're sure about that?"

"Absolutely my Bunny. You may not see it now, but one day you will realize that there can be only me for you. And until you do, and until you realize that, I will do whatever is needed so that no one can take you away from me."

Zhan looked at Yibo speechlessly. He would have liked to say something on it, something provocative or sarcastic, but he just couldn't think of anything. Not when he saw the seriousness in the lifeguard's eyes. He had never met anyone like Yibo. Certainly, Zhan had a few admirers during his 26 years, both male and female. But never one of them was like Wang Yibo.

Could it really be that this lifeguard is the answer to his question which is always the same? The question why he hasn't fallen in love properly once in his life, with all the trimmings. Not just the school crush on Yuan, but real love.

But at the same time, it was just too early for Zhan to think about such things. He has only known Yibo for one day and knows very little about him. Nevertheless, he felt something in himself that he had never felt before. But he did not know how to describe this feeling. How could he be able to do that when he has never had such a feeling?

Instead of searching in vain for an answer, Zhan took the snacks he had brought with him out of his backpack and put them on the blanket, between himself and Yibo. He handed Yibo a spoon and a pair of chopsticks and only now he noticed that Yibo was wearing the apple green shirt. Zhan smiled, because Zhan thought it suits Yibo very well and it even emphasizes his athletic upper body.

"What were you doing yesterday?" Asked Zhan when they both started eating.

"I went straight home. As I said before, my parents always worry quickly if I don't let them know that I'm going to be late. I know it sounds silly because I'm an adult. But that's who they are. Even with my brother they act like that."

"So you all live in the same house together?"

"In a big apartment. Even though my parents are managers at the supermarket, it doesn't make them rich. But it is enough for a decent and good life. What do your parents do?"

"They moved to the country eight years ago and wanted to run an organic farm with my uncle and aunt. But just before the time came, the two of them bailed out and my parents run the organic farm alone. Except for three employees. My older sister wanted to live there with her husband and her two sons, but when her husband got a job in Hong Kong, they moved to Hong Kong."

"So you're here all alone, Bunny?"

"As for the family, yes. But I have good friends and that's why I don't feel alone."

When they had finished eating, Yibo lay down on Zhan's blanket and asked Zhan to read to him from his book. And while Zhan was reading to him, Yibo was lying on his side looking at Zhan. In a short pause, when Zhan had to drink something, Yibo said, "You are so incredibly beautiful, do you know that?" Zhan felt his cheeks redden and tried to cover it up by putting his hands on his cheeks and looking at Yibo.

"It's like being in a bar when a guy tries to pick up a girl." Said Zhan and pretended to be shocked.

"Why a woman? I'm sure men are spoken to that way. And what's wrong with telling you how beautiful and handsome you are? I just think you're gorgeous and I like that little mole under your lower lip. And I like your Bunny teeth, they make you perfect in my eyes."

Zhan was about to reply something, when a loud thunder was heard. The two had been so focused on each other that they didn't even notice that the sun was obscured by dark grey clouds and a thunderstorm was coming up. Shocked, the two looked around and noticed, that they were the only ones left in the water park. They were alone.

And even the watchtower was no longer occupied. Zhan picked up his cell phone and looked for the latest severe weather warnings. "They warn of heavy thunderstorms." Said Zhan and started putting his things in his backpack. At that moment the wind rose and it became very stormy.

Zhan had packed everything quickly and Yibo tried to reach his brother. When Yibo returned to Zhan, he said, "My brother said that the bathers were sent home about half an hour ago and Emily, my colleague, should have told me because she knew I am with you."

"But she didn't let you know."

"I told you she is a bitch. She hates me because I rejected her."

"Rejected?"

"Mn. I'm totally embarrassed. Two weeks ago she stood in front of me and declared her love for me. I told her I am not interested in her and I even said it very politely and nicely, but since then she hates me and acts as if I am not there."

In the meantime it had become so dark that it was almost like late evening. Lightning and thunder began to alternate and the wind became a storm. Zhan and Yibo were still under the parasol when it suddenly started to rain. Yibo was cranking the handle to pull in the parasol. When the wind pressed on the parasol and caught Zhan and Yibo under it.

The two laughed, they looked deep into each other's eyes and said nothing. They just stood there, looked each other in the eyes, and forgot everything around them. Until Yibo reached out his hand and touched Zhan's cheek. He bent over to Zhan and kissed him. Zhan had been frozen in the first moment because he hadn't expected it. But when Yibo pulled Zhan closer to him with his other hand by putting his hand on Zhan's back, Zhan's freeze released and he returned the kiss.

Only when someone shouted, "Why are you still here?" Release the kiss. Yibo, however, was not ready to release Zhan immediately and hugged him.

"I'm really serious about you, Bunny. That was my first kiss, and I'm glad I shared it with you." Said Yibo while holding Zhan tightly in his arms.

But it wasn't only Yibo's first kiss, but also Zhan's first kiss and he never thought that he would get it from a man he only knew for one day. And yet, he was happy, because while Yibo kissed Zhan, he felt a strong tingling in his stomach that spread all over his body. Now Zhan could no longer deny it, this lifeguard had actually managed to make Zhan fall in love with him.

A loud roll of thunder and the man's renewed call brought the two back to reality and they crawled out from under the collapsed parasol. It was Yibo's brother who had been looking for Yibo after Yibo called him. "I was already on my way home when my car suddenly broke down." He explained when the three were on their way to the exit.

"Shit, I can't ride my bike in this weather either. When does the next bus come?" Asked Yibo.

Zhan waved his car keys and said, "I'll drive you home." The two brothers were relieved and Yibo did not hide that he is happy.
