Lauren's POV
I sit down in front of Liam as I examine him. "Mr. Drug merchant," I speak up.
"Lieutenant Jauregui," He returns the same tone.
"We will ask you questions you can either be calm about it or we will go the hard way and force answers out of you," I lock my hands together, resting them on the table.
"Alright Lieutenant," Liam shrugs.
"Where were you the night of the murder?"
"Selling drugs Lieutenant you know this shit," Liam says blankly avoiding eye contact with me.
"Okay true. How about Austin was he with you?" I ask.
"No, I mean I do sell drugs to him but no he wasn't with me he was probably doing pimp shit," Liam responds.
"Okay. How about Camila? Was she with you?" I asked.
Liam bites his lower lip looking at his hands. "She was, she asked for a shit ton of drugs. She seemed a bit off. Like she was upset," Liam says lowly. "She denied it but I could see right through her. I might just be her drug dealer but along the years she became one of my closest friends."
I bite my lower lip hearing everything Liam said. "So she was off?" I asked.
"Very off. I don't know I've never seen her like that she's usually so tuff and you can't break her," Liam says.
"Does the name Michael Bisping ring a bell for you?" I asked.
"No not at all. I don't go to the strip club. I don't sell drugs to a guy named Michael. I don't really know Austin to be exact I just sell him drugs."
"Okay Liam," I stand up. "You're a good sport for someone with a bad record. I just have one final question for you before I lead you back to the cell." Liam nods and stares directly into my eyes, waiting for me to ask my question. "What's your blood type, Liam?" I asked.
"AB plus," He answers immediately.
I nod and walk over to him, helping him up. "You'll be in the holding cell until proven innocent by Detective Brooke," I inform.
Once he's in the cell I hear Ally call me over. "Yes, Detective?" I walk up the stairs to the office section.
"We have a witness that came forward. He has some more intel on our killer," Ally says.
"Sure who is he?" I asked.
"Michael's neighbor. His name is Shawn Mendes he was going out to the bar with his friends. It was night so he didn't really get a close look and the killer was wearing all black but he has intel of which arm the killer accidentally cut themselves," Ally explains.
"I'll go conversate with him now," I respond.
"Good and uh Lauren..." Ally speaks up before I could leave.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Great job on the interrogations you proofed me and Justin wrong Jauregui," She says.
"Holding my composure but I'll be okay," I respond with a smile.
"Okay we all have shit to do Jauregui after this we'll need to go back to the house to run another investigation to see if we missed anything because you are right. We need more clues," Ally smiles.
I return it and walk out of the station. I start driving back to the closed-off house and park next to its neighboring house. I see a fairly tall man standing outside so I get out of my car. "Police Lieutenant Lauren Jauregui," I hold my hand out to him.
"Shawn Mendes," He shakes my hand.
"So you informed our Detective that you have further intel of our killer?"
"Of course come on in Lieutenant," Shawn smiles.
"I don't want to intrude," I wave it off.
"Please my pleasure," Shawn says.
"If you insist," I smile and follow him inside the house.
"Would you like some coffee? Tea?" He asks.
"A tea will be fine," I smile.
He goes off to make some tea for us and I look around his house. It seems like he's the only one living here. "Do you live alone Mr. Mendes?" I asked.
Shawn comes back in and blushes hard. "No I don't. My boyfriend is out of town," Shawn sets the cup of tea down in front of me.
I smile warmly, "Really?"
"Yeah, well can we get started with this?" He asks.
"Of course Shawn but one more thing, " I look up at him.
"Of course," He smiles.
"If your Michael's neighbor how come you didn't hear any cries of help or anything?" I asked.
"I was in a heated argument with my boyfriend on the phone," Shawn looks down.
"Oh, I'm sorry for making you bring it up," I frown.
"It's okay. I'm sure you understand," Shawn says.
"Not at the moment but slightly the same situation." I frown and bite my lower lip sustaining any tears threatening to come out.
"I'm so sorry," Shawn mumbles.
"It's okay Mr. Mendes can we get right into business?" I asked.
Shawn motions for me to go with a friendly smile and I take out my notepad to jot down information and bring it back to Ally later.
