Lauren's POV

Oh, God. Back at the Cabello residence but only this time I'll be picking up Camila. I get out of my police car and walk up to the front porch. I knock a couple of times, waiting nervously for the door to open. Once the door opens the older man is revealed on the other side.

"Lieutenant Jauregui," Alejandro nods firmly.

"Camila is home right?" I try to hide my nervousness.

"Yeah I'll go get her please don't be harsh on her," Alejandro says and leaves me alone.

"Never," I whisper.

A couple of minutes later Alejandro comes back with Camila. The brunette looks up at me and immediately looks back down.

"Camila, can you please come with me?" I whisper.

"I guess," Camila holds her wrists up.

"That's not necessary Camila," I put them down gently.

Camila turns to her father and plants a kiss on his cheek. "Let's go, Lieutenant," She mumbles.

I give Camila's dad a warm smile and walk with Camila to my police car. I stuff my hands in the pockets of my jacket as we walk in awkward silence. I open the backdoor of my car and hold a friendly hand out to her. Camila ignores my hand and gets in. I bite my lower lip and close the door behind her. I enter the driver's side and start driving but not to the station.

Camila's POV

I look up to see that Lauren isn't driving to the station but to a small cliff with the view of the city. She comes to a stop and I sit up. "Why are we here Lieutenant?" I asked.

Lauren doesn't answer and continues to play with the wheel. "I'm worried about you Camila," She whispers.

I feel a pang in my heart and I sit back. "Really?" I asked.

"I was such an asshole Camila I.. I shouldn't have ran away from you especially since you were dealing with a horrible situation," She says.

"I still don't understand why you did Lauren," I bite my lower lip really not wanting to cry.

"Lucy was going to help me become a police officer. I was having a hard time and this has always been my dream. I know that's not an excuse but I'm so sorry Camila," Lauren explains.

"You and Lucy got a divorce. What was that about?" I asked.

"I realized she used my money to buy herself a house and live a new life with Veronica," Lauren responds, "Her ex." Lauren frowns "Ever since that day, I regretted leaving you."

"I fought everything by myself but I could never stop thinking about you."

Lauren looks in the rearview mirror and smiles at the sight of her hoodie. "You always loved that hoodie," Lauren laughs.

I look down at her hoodie and smile. "I always did."

Lauren gets out of the police car and I look back to see her just standing out there. I bite my lower lip and get out of the car. I walk over to her and hesitantly stay back a little.

"Come up here. Don't be shy," Lauren speaks up.

I bite my lower and walk closer to her. I wrap my arms around her torso, kissing her shoulder.

"I truly feel horrible Camila," Lauren touches my hand gently.

"I know you do," I whisper, feeling the breeze brush through my hair.

Lauren turns around and takes my hands in hers. "I'll do anything for you, baby, anything," She whispers.

"Kiss me, Lauren." What the fuck? Oh God no. That wasn't supposed to be said out loud.

"Kiss you?" Lauren whispers.

"That...okay now it's awkward," I whisper.

"We're you thinking that?" Lauren smiles brightly.

"Maybe..." I whisper.

"Do you want me too baby girl?" Lauren asks.

"Kiss me and find out if I kiss you back," I whisper, gripping her jacket.

"I don't want to take advantage," Lauren murmured.

"Always so sweet." I pull her down and connect our lips in a very needed kiss. Lauren stays still for little then kisses back. I wrap my arms inside her warm jacket feeling her fit body press up against my own. I pull away from her slowly, smiling brightly. "Just the way I remembered," I whisper, running my hand down her chest.

"You didn't have to do that," Lauren whispers.

"I wanted to. Please promise me they won't take me in," I whisper.

"You're innocent, baby. I promise you," Lauren touches my cheek gently.

I smile warmly and rest my head on her chest really missing her warm comfortable arms. Only one person has made me feel at home and that's this very green-eyed girl.

"We should go I do have to bring you in after all," Lauren whispers.

"At least it was you and not anybody else," I look up at her.

"You're lucky. Ally was going to send Zayn," Lauren laughs.

"Come on," I motion to the car.

"Hold on," Lauren holds onto me close. "Whatever happens. I'll do everything to get you out of it. I'm not leaving you all alone. Not again."

"I know Lauren," I smile.

"Don't call me Lauren."

I roll my eyes, "Amor."

"Much better," Lauren bumps her nose with mine making us both smile.
