Lauren's POV
I get out of my car one hand on my pistol. SWAT Sergeant Andrew Bazzi hops out of the SWAT team vehicle.
"Lieutenant," He holds a hand out.
"Sergeant," I shake it. "How's that singing career."
"Splendid," He responds. He loads his 5.56 NATO M4, "Ready when you are."
"Alright," I walk up front. Everyone hushes so I can speak. "Don't hurt anyone. Any suspicious activity you report immediately listen to your earpieces at all times we're here for evidence nothing else." I pull out my badge as I approach the bouncer. "Police Office Lieutenant Lauren Jauregui, we need you to move aside."
"Warrant?" He asks.
I pull out the document with my other hand. He takes it and hands it back moving aside. I motion for Andrew and his men to enter.
"Get down!" He orders everyone inside the club, "Hands behind your head."
I see Normani on stage and I help her stand up. "Mani do you have access to Austin's office?" I asked.
"Lauren, hi. And yes he has a spare key," Normani says.
"Do you know where it is?" I asked.
"Definitely follow me," She says.
I follow her backstage as she leads me towards Austin's office. She digs in the dirt of the flower pot and pulls out a key. She hands it to me and I smile softly. I unlock the door and throw it open.
"Wow," Normani says.
I look around seeing the spread papers, things thrown everywhere, and several cigars and ashes scattered around the main desk. I carefully walk in to not trip over anything that's spread out on the floor. I sit on Austin's desk chair and immediately get to work on the computer. Once I was able to crack the password I go into the open bank account statement and scan everything. He has withdrawals, money coming in, recent check statements. One for Camila so he was telling the truth about that.
I sit up in my seat as I see another check statement to Jamie Dornan. "One million dollars?" I whispered. My eyes widen as I remember what Gerald said.
"Maybe one. Jamie Dornan. I don't really know anything about the dude since he's mostly off the grid but I do know that dude is dangerous. Got in a fight with him not too long ago and almost died," Gerald explains.
After taking a picture, I turn off the computer and start searching the desk drawers. I pull out a note pad that has a ripped page. I find a pencil and start scribbling seeing the imprints of words start to appear.
Here's your payment for the job Jamie.
I bag the notepad and continue to search. I didn't find anything else but something caught my attention. I kneel down to see a button on the desk. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion and gently press the button. I stand up and see the bookshelf start to move to the side. Once it's fully opened I peak through to see hidden stuff. Stuff that Austin will hide so we don't have any tracks leading back towards him.
I kneel down to find a bloody black hoodie. I bag it then find the size 9 black shoes and bloody black gloves. I bag everything and leave the secret room. My phone rings and I answer the call.
"Hello?"
"Lauren we need you in the lab," Harry's voice rings out.
"I'll be right over," I spoke and hung up. I walk downstairs and call out, "Sergeant move out, meet me back at the station." Once I exit the club I put all the evidence in the backseat and start my car, the SWAT team following right behind me.
