~1 Week Later~

Yeonjun had never been more frustrated in his life.

He and Soobin had agreed to start off slow again, but a week had passed and they weren't progressing at all. He obviously hadn't expected the two of them to immediately go back to how they used to be, but Yeonjun thought they would at least be doing the bare minimum in terms of affection now that they had reconciled. Still, he didn't even get that from Soobin. It's not that the affection was taking quite a while to build up over time, it's that Soobin outright refused to even be affectionate at all.

Every time Yeonjun would stand next to him and place his hand on his lower back, Soobin would turn and slip away from his touch. Every time Yeonjun would grab his hand, Soobin would hold it lazily or make an excuse to use both of his hands to do something, pulling it away after only a few moments. Each time they'd watch a film or show together, Soobin would sit on the couch, putting a reasonable distance between him and Yeonjun, and he would barely comment or joke about what they were watching to Yeonjun like he used to. Soobin wouldn't spend the night anymore, always making an excuse to go back home or make Yeonjun leave as night drew nearer. They hadn't even kissed once since they had reunited. Not even a single peck on the cheek. Overall, Soobin was very distant, and it had started to take a toll on Yeonjun, who was very used to the two of them always being talkative and naturally clingy to each all the time.

Not to mention that on top of this, Soobin's mood had tanked. He barely spoke, and when he did, Yeonjun could always sense irritation in his voice. He chuckled every now and then, but he hadn't heard Soobin genuinely laugh in a long while, especially at Yeonjun's stupid jokes. Before this, Yeonjun recalled Soobin laughing at his jokes all the time, and not because they were funny. He'd laugh at them because he knew they were corny and ridiculous, which is why Yeonjun loved to tell them. He loved to see Soobin's reaction, but now he would get none. Overall, they wouldn't bicker or argue since they could barely hold a conversation to begin with, but there was always quite a bit of passive-aggressiveness lingering in the air when they actually did speak, and it especially came from Soobin.

Yeonjun couldn't see a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel due to all of this, and he was starting to lose hope.

"He's not responding to me, Beomgyu," Yeonjun said into the phone, trying to keep his voice stable so that Beomgyu wouldn't be able to tell that he was close to crying. "I don't think we're going to last if it keeps going this way. I just ... I don't think he wants me anymore..."

"Bullshit, Yeonjun," Beomgyu replied. "He does want you, trust."

"Well, it doesn't feel like that. I feel like I'm forcing him to hang out with me every time we do, and he doesn't talk all that much anymore," Yeonjun said solemnly as he sat on his couch and looked out the window of his apartment.

"I think he's still got a lot on his mind even though everything's kind of back to normal. He gets really quiet when he's upset or depressed," Beomgyu assured him.

"I know he does, but I just wish he would just tell me what's bothering him. He always shrugs me off every time I ask what's on his mind. I don't know if it has to do with me, or Yeji, or even you."

"Or all of those things combined," Beomgyu mumbled contemplatively, feeling himself get low as he thought of how Soobin hadn't spoken to him once since he had found out he told Yeonjun everything. It's what he had expected to happen, and he missed his best friend after being ignored by him for almost a week straight.

"Exactly," Yeonjun agreed before chewing on his lip.

"Actually, if I'm going to be honest, I genuinely think it has something to do with you, dude. Not me or Yeji," Beomgyu stated.
