"Soobin..." Yeonjun said in shock.Yeonjun hadn't expected to see him at all... if ever. He had assumed that Soobin had decided to leave him altogether after not reaching out for a few days now, yet here he was, standing in his doorway and obviously ready to talk.
Soobin was nervous, to say the least. He had taken the last few days to focus on himself and used it to think long and hard over what he was going to say to Yeonjun. Yeonjun, of course, saw the anxiety permeating from him as he looked down and saw Soobin rubbing his hands together, a nervous habit of his that Yeonjun had taken note of over time.
"Hey," the taller said in a small voice.
"Hey..." Yeonjun replied as he kept staring at Soobin. He suddenly snapped out of what felt like a trance and motioned for him to step in. "Sorry, um, come in."
"Thanks," Soobin said as he entered his apartment before Yeonjun closed the door. "It's been a while, huh."
"It has, yeah. In all honesty I didn't think I was gonna see you again..." Yeonjun admitted as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.
"I needed time, remember?"
"I know, it's just... it's been days and you kind of left me in the dark thinking that..."
Yeonjun stopped himself and shook his head.
This isn't about you, he told himself.
"Sorry. That sounded a little selfish," Yeonjun said as he sat down on one of the stools next to his kitchen countertop and Soobin followed to sit next to him. "How are you?"
"I'm doing better," he put it simply as he turned his body towards him.
"That's good, Soobinnie," Yeonjun replied as he felt the nervousness creep into his skin. "So, did you think about us..."
Soobin nodded quietly before speaking.
"Look Yeonjun," he started off, leaving Yeonjun's heart to slowly inch it's way down his chest. The way he sounded wasn't promising to him at all. "Even though I feel bad for blowing up on you a few days ago, I think it was what I needed. Now you know how I really feel..."
Yeonjun gulped nervously before nodding for him to continue.
"Since that night I've really started to move on and heal. I'm still hurting. I can't deny that, but like I said, I feel a lot better," Soobin explained. "And I know with some more time I'll be okay. Then we'll both be okay."
We?
Yeonjun perked up at this and looked hopefully into Soobin's eyes.
"Wait, what are you saying?" he asked cautiously.
"I'm saying I don't want to be on bad terms with you Yeonjun," Soobin said as he reached out and held his hand, something that caused the both of them to feel warm inside. They had missed this. Badly.
"I don't either..." Yeounjun replied, feeling relieved as he lightly massaged Soobin's knuckles with his thumb. "I miss you, Soobin. I just want us to go back to how we used to be."
"I do too," Soobin said softly as he nodded. "Let's just erase everything from the past week and start Day 1 of getting back to our old selves."
"I'd love that," Yeonjun said with a smile before a worried look came onto his face and he let go of Soobin. "But um..."
Yeonjun cleared his throat as he prepared himself for another issue that really needed to be addressed. After all, Yeonjun had told him he loved him, and he was dying to know if Soobin loved him too. It seems they both knew the topic of the conversation that was ensuing by the way Yeonjun was nervously fidgeting and by how Soobin kept rubbing his hands together.
