Day 26

26. Only 364 days until Christmaaaaaas :D Write about Day 14 people (or one of them at least) getting p'ed off because there was no star on top of the tree, and no way to get one.

John had been on a mission just before Christmas and only arrived home on Chrismas Eve. His wife had put up all the decorations they had and as he crept through the dark house looking out for all the traps they liked to put up he knew that everything was was perfect until we walked into the living room intent on putting his wife's present under the tree for the morning when he stopped and stared searching for what was wrong.

Julie had woken up to screams. She had grabbed her gun and run down the stairs to find her husband standing in horror next to the tree, a present on the floor where he had dropped it and his jacket stained with old blood. She glanced at the tree and mentally slapped her self. She'd forgotten to get a new star. The old one had broken so she decided to get another one and had forgotten. John was going to kill her.

"It's Chrismass Eve." she said. "You can't buy anything until boxing day and even then do you really want to push past everybody for the sales?"

"But...? But...?" he stammered.

"It's a public holiday and it's nearly midnight. Everything closes at three anyway you're nine hours too late."

"I'm going to die." he whimpered and she nodded.

"you go do that." she yawned and went back to bed, falling asleep to the sounds of breaking china. Maybe she should get p early and nick the nab ours and give it to him as a gift? Nah, he needed to grow up. Downstairs another plate smashed.
