-Sebastian's POV-

"If it's worth knowing what I need to know then I'll gladly accept your terms." I answered, placing my clasped hands on the table and looked at her green eyes.

A small smile formed at the corner of her lips.

"Though I can't read the future, I knew you were gonna say that..." Her eyes glowed even more in amusement, as if a small flame was inside those pupils. She mirrored my actions, placing her pale hands on the table.

"As expected from Erik's son."

I only had very few memories of my father and following him into this house was one of them. Reaching the age of 7, those memories had stopped after I left his pack. One thing I know was, he kept visiting this place every week, and my mother's condition got even more worse that she was not the definition of a sane person anymore.

I ran away after my mom killed herself, devastated of the fact that I had now no one to trust to. My father looked emotionless infront of her lifeless body and I blamed him for not taking care of her.

But what goes around, comes around, when after a few years, I received news that someone killed him. I didn't know whether I should be happy or not.

I took a deep breath, inhaling deeply into my lungs and closed my eyes.

"Let's get on with it, shall we?" I asked, dismissing her idea of mentioning the story of my father.

She stared at me intently, reading my expression then clapped her hands once. "Very well." She declared, standing up from her chair.

I now noticed she was wearing a long sleeved gown, the very same texture as their couch. The red velvet gown glistened in different corners when it was struck with the light of the room.

"Follow me, young man." She instructed, her back facing me. I stood up and followed her. She walked towards a bookcase then turned left, and I did the same.

A series of doors trailed along the narrow hallway as if this was a hotel. The inside of the house was huge compared to its outside.

We walked passed every door with the same antique design. A combination of black and gold carvings. I stopped behind her when she froze on her tracks on a specific door that was unlike the others. The only plain black door among the others.

"Are you really sure with your decision?" She asked quietly.

I answered with no hesitation. "Yes, maam."

Although, no windows nor any opening was on sight in the building, I felt a small cold breeze at the nape of my neck.

"Very well." She replied. Then she placed her fingers around the doorknob and turned it around to open. As the door creaked open, all I saw was darkness inside.

She stepped inside and I followed her, two of ours forms being engulfed in the darkness of the room. The door closed shut and the room grew colder.A small white light suddenly appeared in my vision, floating in the emptiness of this room.

Hovering below the light was Elder Jade's hands, as if she was holding the small illumination by herself. It radiated vaguely on her face that I can see her features. Her green eyes even more visible in this darkness, like a cat in a dark alley.

"Sebastian Stone, Alpha of the Midnight Crescent Pack, what information do you wished to know of?" she asked, staring deeply into my soul.

"I need to know about my mate." I told her.

"I noticed her eyes glowed gold in anger and she had extreme abilities that no werewolf that Ive known has that kind of power. Her former pack member reported that she's immune to silver. How are all these things possible? Why does she despised me and rejected me to be her mate?" My mind and mouth blurted all these things at once.

I had so many questions, not just about her, but about my past.

But it is better to deal with the present rather than dwelling with the past.

"You wish to seek for answers and answers we shall give." The light grew brighter each passing second.

"But." She placed her palm above the light and covered it.

"There is always something in exchange for something." Her eyes glinted as if she was preparing for something she surely would enjoy.

"I'll agree anything you'd have to offer." I nodded.

She gazed at me for a second and opened her mouth to speak.

"You see, my sisters and I are already approaching death, gaining a hundred years or so, feeling the weakness in our flesh and bones.." she removed the hand covering the light and touched her wrinkled face softly as if she's touching something breakable, and closing her eyes as if reminiscing her youthful years.

"We need something so important that you, an Alpha, can give us." she opened her eyes and gazed at me with desire, not the kind of lust that most partners have, but with greed.

"You're telling me you're gonna kill me to bring back your youth in exchange for answers?" I asked bluntly, with a little bit of scoffing.

"Oh no no, that's not what I meant, that's purely brutal dear!" she laughed so sickly that I found it annoying. She recovered from her laugh and changed back into her serious expression.

"I know what you're up to." She said, as if she had already read my mind. She lifted her hand and pointed her manicured finger at me.

"You've been rejected by your mate and you need answers to know why, out of all werewolves, she hates you, and so you want to figure her out, to get to her, to make her yours, to reverse the rejection she made."  She smiled, completely correct in all points that she said.

"So many things that you wanted to know and we can give you all of that.." her voice hummed in my ears and I listened to her persuasion.

"All we need is one thing from you.."

"Your wolf." She declared.
