"How does it look?" Destiny questioned, using Maria's shoulder as a crutch as she looked into the mirror. Maria looked up from her phone to stare at Destiny's reflection.

"Uhh...green is an interesting color on you," Maria said with a scrunched face that confirmed everything Destiny was thinking.

"Hurry up and get ready. I don't want to be late!" Sabrina yelled into the room before rushing into the hallway and down the stairs. Destiny and Maria traded glances, sharing the same dreading look. Destiny huffed, dropping onto the bed beside Maria.

"Got any excuse Sabrina will believe?"

"What are you talking about? You can barely walk, what other excuse do you need?" Destiny rolled her eyes, walking carefully and with a limp toward her closet. She was trying out not having crutches and though her ankle hurt less now, she definitely wasn't totally there yet. Which also meant she'd have to take her crutches to a formal. "Me on the other hand, I've been going on nothing for hours. I couldn't think of anything all day." Maria whined, shifting uncomfortably in her dress.

"Why did we decide to do this again?" Destiny skimmed over the barely filled closet helplessly. Back home she'd probably have millions of options. All she had to go off of were the couple of outfits she'd got from the shopping Adam took the girls on. She was thankful she had anything, especially after she lost her backpack in the woods, but she just wished she'd known about this formal beforehand. She couldn't go in this dress. It was nice, just nothing like her. But she also wasn't filled with options here.

"Because you have to be like your team. No idea why the hell I agreed though." Destiny could hear Maria mutter from the bedroom.

Geez, you alive? Maria texted Gia, still seeing no response from any of her earlier texts.

"Can you see if anybody else has a dress?"

"Ummmmmmmmmmm..." Maria sang in a lazy tone.

"Maria." Destiny urged.

"Fine." Maria huffed, rising from the bed. She walked into the hall, running into Sabrina. "Destiny needs a dress."

"She has a dress. I picked it for her."

"And she hates it." Sabrina's eyes went wide, her mouth falling agape at the revelation. You would've thought she'd have a heart attack too.

"What?!"

"Yup, don't tell her I said that though." Maria urged.

"You people just don't appreciate style. She's lucky I bought a backup." Sabrina muttered under her breath, typing away at her phone. She looked like one of those secretaries with a million things to do at once. It only made Maria want to frustrate her more.

"You have a backup?" Maria said with furrowed brows. Now she was the shocked one.

"Of course. What if I change my mind?" Sabrina questioned in an obvious voice, fixing her curled hair.

"You don't because we're not rich and this is just a formal," Maria said. Just blinking with this makeup felt like a workout. Sabrina, on the other hand, did this all like it was kid's stuff.

"Style is everything, Maria. It says everything about you okay?" She practically looked offended at Maria's statement which Maria wasn't surprised to see.
