A/N
I made this because I didn't write a one-shot angst book. (And because I found this plot line in a sketchbook that I made a little bit ago.) Anyways, Enjoy!
'By the light of a dragon's eye, everything you see in here shall render you blind.'
Roman studied the small plaque over and over again, trying to decipher it's meaning. Did it mean he would find mountains of treasures so extravagant he would never be able to fully comprehend them with his eyes? Or did it mean something else... Something darker than that. Roman felt like he couldn't enter, like some unknown force was trying to keep him from entering the small cave. Though he really wasn't sure why, it was already going to be difficult for himself to wiggle his way through the small crevice. Nevertheless, he had to go inside, his curiosity (and his mission) ensured that he must. Roman cautiously took a step forward, doubting that he would return....
"Cut! Good Work!" Patton shouted, nodding. "Next Scene!" Roman stood and watched the team bustle about, setting up props and new characters. Of course, this was simply rehearsal and they all knew they would have to be quicker about this when it came time for the real show. Virgil then popped up in front of Roman, readjusting and fixing the actor's make-up, muttering something about how he had smudged it and how he should be more careful. Roman then glanced over at the side to Logan, who sat in his chair stiffly, muttering into his earpiece as he readjusted the lights. Everything was just so magical here, and Roman loved everything about it. Roman took a deep breath, slipping back into the demeanor of his princely character... the curtain rose....
and the small child awoke, upset that he couldn't finish his dream. Roman sat up in bed and pouted for a moment, before turning his attention to the room he, his twin, and adopted brothers shared. He turned his attention first to Virgil, who happened to be the make-up artist in his dream, who slept in a black bed with purple covers, a black-out cover drawn over the window next to his bed. He then turned his attention to Logan, who happened to be the techie in his dream, who slept just as stiffly as he had sat in a dark blue bed, the covers covered in stars and constellations, a dark-blue (but still see through) curtain drawn over his window. He then turned his gaze upon Patton, who happened to be the director of his act, who slept in a light blue bed cuddled up close to a cat plush, a light-blue curtain drawn over his window. He then looked over to where his twin was- no should be- sleeping to find that no one lay upon the mysteriously stained sheets. Shrugging, Roman turned his attention to Janus' bed, only to discover that, that is where his twin lie, cuddled up next to the genetically-modified snake/human hybrid. Roman then laid back down, pulling his covers back up to his chin and trying to get some more sleep before Thomas woke them all up for school.
When Thomas got all of them up for breakfast, Roman felt a little bit better, deciding that even though he didn't know what happened next, he could always fantasize about it during class.
