Luke's p.o.v

For 10 minutes or so, we sat in silence. We sat very close too each other too but I wasn't complaining at all, I liked being this close to Maggie. She made me feel overwhelmingly open and sake considering she was practically still a stranger.

A stranger than I was very attracted to and had a bit of a crush on.

Somehow my arm was around her shoulder, and my left hand was holding her left hand which rested on my right thy.

I didn't want to move.

But really, who would want to move anyway? I was sitting next to one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever seen, who had, for some reason, just opened up to me about a really important and traumatic experience she'd been through; watching her own mum die.

In the beginning I had only planned to spend 5 minutes at the most with her, say thanks for helping me out then going and getting shit drunk with Calum.

"What time is it?" She broke our silence, turning her head to look at me.

I checked my watch. "11;45"," I told her, actually quite taken a back at how long we'd been here. "Are you bored here?" I asked, hoping she hadn't been sitting here for god knows how long trying to think of an excuse to leave.

"Not at all, I could sit here forever." She giggled, looking from me, to the city, and back to me again. "Are you?"

"No, but I'm hungry." I admitted. "Let's go and get a hot dog, there's a diner like 10 minutes from here, I'll pay." I offered, standing up and helping her up after.

"Um no, you're not paying for me, I have a thing about people paying for my things and it's fine I can-"

"Well tough shit because I have a thing about not letting other people pay for their own food, specially not beautiful women." I flirted, flashing her a grin afterwards and receiving an eye roll.

"Oh is this like the thing you do with all the girls you pretend to be with for 5 minutes? Was Gemma just an actor to help you  pick up girls? I bet you she's your sister or something, ew gross she said she took your virginity-" I covered her mouth with my hand while she giggled at me. She began biting my finger so I let go.

"Gemma is definitely not my sister and I'm definitely not the type of guy who goes to clubs to pick up chicks." I told her, speaking the truth.

I didn't like the thought of meeting a girl in a club, dancing with her and getting her number. Imagine standing up to make a speech at your wedding day and talking about how the first time you ever laid eyes on your bride she was taking a shot at a bar or grinding on a random guy she found which made you jealous.

"Oh so does that make me an exception?" She flirted, grabbing my hands and walking backwards, dragging me along behind her.

"Well, exceptional is one word to describe you." I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing at my cheesy compliment.

"Was that suppose to be some sort of pick up line? I bet you do go out and pick up chicks every weekend!" She accused me.

"I swear I don't!" I defended, actually laughing at how cute she was.

"You should, I bet you'd get loads of girls with your cheesy lines and your sexy lip piercing." She smirked, being flirty again.

"Sexy, huh?" I asked, she nodded. "Well I dont think I need to. I mean, I'm doing pretty well right now." I said slowly, letting go of her hands and wrapping my arms around her waist as we stopped walking for no reason.

"What's your last name?" She randomly asked.

"Hemmings." I told her.

"Does Maggie Hemmings sound good to you? Because if you keep using your pick up lines I'll marry you like now." She told me, and to stop myself having an out burst of laughter I burried my face in her hair.

"I like that," I mumbled into her hair. "Do you know what else I like?"

"Hot dogs." She answered, and I chuckled.

"Yeah but that's not what I was going to say. I was going to say I like-"

"No Luke, the diner is there." She told me, pointing left.

"Oh," I laughed.

"What were you going to say you liked?" She asked, smirking at me.

"You." I shrugged, deciding not to physically show how nervous I was from telling her I liked her. It wasn't even a big thing, people like other people every day. But the difference was that I'd only known this girl for a couple of hours and I already liked this girl. And that was a big thing.
