FOUR MONTHS LATER

Pushing open the door of the small two-story house, Matilda aims her bow, spotting two walkers standing in front of her and her father. She pulled back the string and released it.

She watched as the arrow soared through the air, embedding through the first walker's' skull. Her father shoots the second walker as his daughter walked past him and makes her way into the hall.

Running in circles all winter, with food becoming harder to find, they need to find a place to settle.

With her mother's pregnancy
progressing, they need to find shelter, food, and water.

The dark haired girl slowly walked into the kitchen, behind her
was her youngest brother and Violet. Carl raised his gun-walking in front of the girl, aiming it at something.

Matilda saw what her brother was aiming at. A walker stumbling around in the back of the kitchen.

Without hesitation, Carl pushed the trigger, and the bullet flies through the air striking the decaying head. The Walker dropped as their father pushed his way by, looking down the narrow corridor.

"We need to look for food and water," Lola said as she looks down the corridor with Rick.

Everyone nodded before walking over to the cupboards. Matilda pulled open a cupboard, founding a can opener. She grabbed the opener and shoved it into Violet's bag.

She perked up, hearing cans clinked together as she watched as Carl grabbed two cans of dog food. He sighed and handed one to his sister.

Tilly gave him a crooked smile and ruffled his hair. Hearing someone walk in the kitchen, she was greeted with the sight of their tired-looking father.

"Clear?" Rick asked looking from Violet to his children.

Rick looked over his daughter's appearance. Tilly looked stressed, her dark brown, almost black hair was matted with walker blood, her blood, and sweat. Dark Bags covered her under eyes.

Hi daughter stayed up almost every night, watching the group and taking care of her mother. Rick knew she hasn't slept since the farm. It's been a few months. The only time she sleeps is when exhaustion hits. And it hits hard.

"Yeah, Clear out that walker," Matilda said, handing back the can of dog food.

She ran her hand through her matted hair and sighed quitely. He nods, walking over towards the back door. He slowly opens it and brings a finger to his lips.
