"Okay children, settle down!" Said Mrs. James the classes teacher. Gabriel sat up in his seat. He knew what the lesson was about. He had been longing to learn this topic, but he was never old enough, until now. He looked at the paper taped to his desk.

He knew his name, it was Nathaniel. The paper included small details of Nathaniel, such as his favorite color. He knew Nathaniel liked to draw and go for jogs or walks. It included basic information about all vampires, such as he has red eyes and black hair, with blue-ish skin and fangs, black nails with a cape they wear everyday. It didn't include much, most of it was stuff they already knew. Today they were starting to learn about the vampire they were assigned to at birth, and Gabriel was excited, but everyone didn't seem to be. It took a little bit to calm everyone down, but once she did the teacher started to explain how the system worked, along with vampire life.

"Alright students, as you know, today we are learning about your vampire. If you look at the pamplet taped to your desk, you can learn these small details about your vampire." A few people looked down, a few pearked up in their seat, along with Gabriel.

He was sweating, he bad found nothing on the internet about this. It's only taught in classes, and he had been waiting for this day since he was a child.

He had notes taken of anything he had learned about vampires and their lives from eavsdropping conversations from parents or teachers, and saved it in a thick notebook that he kept near him at all times. Some thing she could out together, but the grown ups were very secretive about it until they were old enough, so not much was known to him.

He pulled out his notebook from his bag and placed it on his desk, people whispering or giggling about him. He had delt with bullying all his life, and had had this notebook since age 7, but only had a few pages filled with information.

Everyone wanted to know what was in his notebook, but with how well he hid it his bullies never found it. Nobody did besides him.

"Alright, so first let's start off with the system, then we can go into how vampires lives work like ours. So, the system is kind of complex, at birth your information is put into a machine and you are paired up with another vampire, as you know.

Your vampire is always the same age and gender as you, and they were also given a pamplet that tells them information about you, like yours appearance and name. Vampires age like us humans, but once they reach 100 years old they age backwards until they are like a new born again.

If a human gives permission, the vampire may turn the human into a vampire as well. If that happens, you both stay the age that you were turned forever. If the vampire or human chooses not to turn, then the human will die and the vampire will age backwards, until hitting 0 and being reassigned. The vampire will protect you, and in return they will live with you, you will give them your blood when they are hungry and you must make them feel comfortable, and give them what they need or want.

You are not allowed to talk to ANYONE younger than 14 about this lesson, because of the law passed down in 2031, nearly 1000 years ago. If you are found speaking of this lesson to someone younger than 14 there will be great consequences. Now, does anyone have any questions?"

Gabriel thought of all the questions he didn't have answer to, and having so many over the years he didn't know where to begin. A few people raised their hand as he finished writing down the facts in short notes, and he raised his hand.

The teacher called on him first, knowing how eager he was and how many questions he would most definitely have. "What do you mean by they give us protection? Why do we need it?" Gabriel asked her. The teacher looked kind if shocked, as if she had never gotten this question before.
