"So, what's your favorite.. Animal?" Nathan asked. "Do vampires count?" Gabriel said. They both laughed and continued to ask each other questions until Gabriel's mother called for them.

They both came into the kitchen and Nathan saw Damian sitting st the table and their mother was putting the food down on the table. "Who's that?" Nathan whispered to Gabriel as they walked dinto the kitchen.

"My brother," He whispered back. They sat down and Damian looked at Nathan oddly. "Damian, this is my friend Nathan. Nathan my brother Damian." Gabriel said, clearly annoyed.

Their mother sat down at the table and they all started to eat their food. "So, what do you kids want to do today?" Their mother asked them. "Ice cream!" Damian screamed. Gabriel looked at his mom. "What about a beach or lake..?" He said.

His brother started throwing a tantrum. "Damian, we can't do everything you want. We can get ice cream on the way home? It's a nice day, I think the beach will be perfect. You can get your swim suit when you're done eating, Gabriel, and Nathan can wear one if your extra ones.

I'll gets Damian's when I'm done eating." So they sat there, mostly Gabriel and Nathan talking while Damian and their mother were talking about god knows what.

When they were done eating, Gabriel and Nathan got up and went into Gabriel's room. "Okay, I think I have something you could wear, and I could just wear some shorts I have. You can go in the sun right?" Gabriel said, walking to his closet.

"Yes, we can, but we don't usually." Gabriel pulled out a pair of shorts and some swimming trunks and gave Nathan the shorts. "Here. My mom and Damian are probably almost ready, I'll change in here.

Put your clothes on over the shorts, unless you want to be wet on the way home." Nathan got up and said "I'll be fine. You might need to take a sweater though. It's hard for vampires to get cold, not for you guys I don't think." He said, getting up. He went into the bathroom and closed the door.

Gabriel set down the swimming trunks and walked over to his notebook, and he wrote down, "Vampires don't get cold easily." Then closed the notebook and got dressed.

Gabriel finished putting his shorts on and put the sweater back on, then told Nathan he'd be out in the front room waiting for him. He left the room and sat on the couch, and he heard his brother come tumbling out of his room, trying to run from his mom.

His mom grabbed his arm and yanked him back in to finish dressing him and Gabriel chuckled. After a few minutes, Nathan came out of the bedroom and sat on the couch next to Gabriel. "What's that noise?" Nathan asked Gabriel.

"Just my brother trying to run from my mom. He refuses to get dressed by himself and throws a fit when mom tries to do it." He said, sighing and bending over, putting his hand on his cheek.

Gabriel turned on the TV and they watched a few shows before Damian and their mom came out. "Gabriel, I'm going to get the food together. Can you get some towels?" His mother asked, picking up Damian and popping him on the couch.

"Yeah, I can get some." Gabriel said, and got up. He walked to the hallway, out of view and heard them start talking again. "Do you have any food allergies besides garlic, Nathan?" His mother asked.

"Uhm, no, vampires are eonly allergic to garlic. Nothing else. Can I help with anything?" Nathan responded. "Could you keep an eye on him?" His mother asked, pointing at Damian. Nathan nodded and his mother started walking to the kitchen, so Gabriel walked into his room and into his bathroom.

He grabbed 4 towels and a spare blanket, set them down on his bed and wrote what Nathan said in his notebook.

When he came out his mom had a bag with food in it. "Nathan could you carry the food?" She asked, unlocking their car. Nathan got up and grabbed the bag of food and their mother went and picked up Damian, bringing him to the car.

She strapped him in the backseat of their minivan and Gabriel went to the back and opened the trunk. He put the towels and blanket in one corner and Nathan put the food in another. "Hold on, I forgot my phone." Gabriel said, as he closed the trunk. He ran inside and come out a few seconds later with a phone and headphones.

He sat in the middle while his mom got in the drivers seat, so Nathan sat next to Gabriel in the middle, Damian right behind Gabriel.

"So that's a phone?" Nathan asked, looking at Gabriel's phone, curiously. "Yeah, have you never seen one?" Gabriel asked, and handed the phone to Nathan. "Yeah, we don't have them where I'm from." He said.

"How does this work?" Gabriel explained how to use different apps on his phone, and about 45 minutes later they reached a nearby beach. Their mother stopped the car and got in the back to unbuckle Damian.

Gabriel got up and opened the trunk. "I'll get the blanket and set everything up, then I'll help you set the food up." He said grabbing the towels and blankets. Nathan picked up the bag of food and followed Gabriel to a sunny spot in the middle of the beach.

The beach wasn't packed, but it was very much busy. Gabriel set down the towels and unfolded the blanket, then set it down flat on the sand. He put the towels one the blanket and grabbed the food from Nathan.

"I'll just set this in the corner, since it's the only a real with shade." Gabriel said, setting the food on the send by the corner of the blanket. Gabriel's mom came over holding Damian and set him down. Damian immediately ran to the shop where they had ice cream on the other side of the beach.

"You boys have fun, I have to deal with him." She said, pointing at Damian running full speed to the shop. "Wanna go swim?" Gabriel asked, setting his phone down on the blanket. He put a few towels over his phone so nobody would see it.

"Sure. Is the water cold?" Nathan asked. "Kind of, normally I sit by the front where the waves are lower and get used to it then start to slowly walk deeper." Gabriel responded, taking off his sweater and setting it on top of the towels.

They walked down to the coastline and sat next to each other, the waves came up to about their waste and come over their legs. They got used to the water quickly, but it was colder for Gabriel than it was for Nathan.

They got up and started to walk in, and from their feet to about their knees there were rocks all over the bottom, and Nathan was being careful where he stepped. Gabriel kept stepping on the rocks. "God why are they all so freaking spiky?!" Gabriel said.

He stepped over and stopped walking. Suddenly, someone walked into him from behind and he fell forward. He would have fallen into the rocks, but Nathan caught him.

Nathan saw a large rock sticking out of the water and helped Gabriel get to it without stepping on all the rocks again. Once they got there, Nathan sat on it and helped Gabriel up.

"Oh my gosh, people need to watch where they are going." Nathan said rolling his eyes. "Yeah.." Gabriel said. He reached down and looked at his foot. His toe was bleeding.

"Hold on." Nathan said. He closed his eyes again and put his hand on Gabriel's foot. His wound sparkled, and slowly started to clean itself and close. Nathan removed his hand and opened his eyes. "There." He said, and hopped back in the water.

"I'll help us get farther out, until we get away from the rocks." He said, and helped Gabriel down from the rock.

Someone from behind Nathan tapped his shoulder. Nathan turned around. "Can I help you?" He said. There was a girl there, she looked about 8 or 9.

"Are you a Vampire?" She said, looking him in the eyes intently. Nathan nodded and glanced behind him at Gabriel who shrugged. "That's so cool!" She said. Her emotions changed very fast. After a while of talking to the little girl she left and Nathan started to guide Gabriel away from the rocks.

"Ow!" Gabriel said. "God, do I have to carry you?" Nathan said jokingly. "Nope, we are almost there anyways." Gabriel said. Nathan started walking and he felt the rocks disappear from under his feet.

Gabriel was still in the rocks. He jumped over them and fell into the water, and immediately shot up. "Oh my god, that's freezing!" Gabriel screamed, soaking wet. Nathan was laughing so hard he couldn't talk.
